Default Question about Service Price

Hi Guys,

I was charged of $250 CAD by a dealer in Toronto area for the second maintenance service (12,000KM).

I wonder if the price I paid for this kind of service in Toronto area is normal or I was over-charged.

Any response is appreciated.

Thanks

each shop charges different labor to a degree, but that price sounds about right. Perhaps you could call other service counters to compare the price?

I assume that includes oil change, tire rotation, plus all the small inspections, and maybe a complimentary car wash. CAD$250 sounds about right.

Yes, the services included oil change, fill-to-top, various inspection, and a car wash. But no tire rotation.

Thanks again for your comments.

I shall ask my question here instead of starting a new one. I am up for my 30K service and called up Richmond Lexus to make an appointment, and they say this "major" service will cost me $530(somewhere like that) and they will need the car of the whole day.

my question...is this "major" service needed or can I just do an Oil and Filter change at lets say Canadian Tires / some where else for cheap..Or Do i needed to/ recommended to do this "major service" :S

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!

Go to Laidlaw auto next time. They are certified master Lexus techs there that charge half the price.

It will keep increasing...Lexus "recommends" their every-other-Service and every-other-Maintenance...will end up charging you like $400-500 for every "Maintenance"

everything is bull****

I get my service done at a local mechanic, I buy my own oil (Motul 5w30 Synthetic) and oem filter from Lexus, and just pay the labour for oil and to get things checked up..total comes to about $100 with GOOD OIL

Once a year I change a new cabin air filter, and clean out my intake filter

Wipers, Tires, Brakepads and Rotors are changed according to wear

Other than that, it is just oil change every 8,000KM...........brake fluid flush every 48,000KM...........and spark plug change every 96,000KM.......NOTHING ELSE
don't fall for that dealership crap, this is where they make the most money off of you

In this case I'd rather be overcharged at a Lexus dealer than give my car to crappy tire *******s

Erin Park Lexus wanted $285+tax when I took my wife's CT in at 15 000 Kms! I declined it!
