Default Service at Toyota Dealership - Vancouver

So I just took my IS250 awd over to the Toyota Dealership on Fraser and Marine for a tire/wheel change +tpms activation. Spoke to one of the SA's there about servicing and pricing while waiting for my car. Incase some of you didn't know, you can get the service done at any Toyota dealership with some savings.

Lexus and Toyota share the same database, so you will always have the service recorded in their computer system. Toyota can't do any warranty services, but they can pretty much do anything else. They just ask that you print out the service list (the one saying what needs to be done at what km).

They had pretty fast service and friendly service. I would recommend calling them to check out what you can save as opposed to a Lexus dealership. Also, service at Toyota doesn't void your warranty.

yes and no...

yes, they can service your vehicle... but they do not have a parts catalog, and a even tho lexus is made by toyota, they cannot get all of the lexus parts... they can only bring in what is commonly shared between toyota and lexus models... such as oil filters and such... they cannot get lexus brake pads, or anything lexus specific unless they purchase it from a lexus dealer... which sorta defeats the savings...

Too bad my local Lexus and Toyota dealers are side by side and they are owned by the same owner. Even their parts department are in the same building. My frd usually brings his Acura to Honda for service and it does save him quite a bit over the years.

The savings will always go to the hourly rates as parts are cheap and easy enough to come by. I choose to go to a Lexus service centre for many reason, service, relationship built and the loaner car (except when I get the Camry).

Can you tell me what they charged to program your TPMS? I have some new rims and want to buy some TPMS off e-bay and get them activated.

thanks

$99.50 plus $30 per tire if they need to take off the rubber and mount. Ask for Kevin if you go to that dealership, pretty nice guy.
