Default Another JZS161 GS300 2JZGTE vvti swap

Hi All,

Currently in the middle of a 2JZGTE swap on my GS300.

Have found some great information so far on the forums and thought I would join to share my conversion and no doubt ask a few questions.

Car is a 1998 Lexus GS300 with the aussie delivered 2JZGE vvti.

New engine is coming out of JZS161 halfcut.

So I work quite abit and have kids so this build may be slowish.

I have a couple of decisions to make which I am not 100% sure about yet.

The 1st being that I have read a number of people have bent there heater core pipe to clear the rear turbo. This sounds like the easiest way but a bit dodge. Given that I have a halfcut I have the heatercore to suit the GTE which switches the heatercore pipe to the inlet side of the engine. But if I switch heatercores i am thinking it is going to escalate to heaterbox change out with all new motors affecting other components under the dash and turning into a MASSIVE job which i don't know if I'm keen on.

Also does anyone know what the small coolant lines are that are T'd into the heater hose and dissapear into the firewall?

Car is now running and fired up 1st crank.

I completed the ignitor pin swap and shift lock came straight off and tacho is operational.

I have installed Aristo radiator and fan shroud but kept the GS300 fans and wiring.
The GS fans are slightly smaller but fit into Aristo shroud.
Have gone over wiring and am pretty confident that i can retain GS fan and wiring setup but I am yet to test to make sure they kick in.

I used a speedworks E85 pump with aeroflow fittings for both discharge and return.
I also installed the Sard jet pump killer.
For the return fuel line I bent up some steel bundy line which is alot cheaper than braid if you are looking to cut costs (I have the factory return line on its way from Japan also which I may be able to use).
