That's a helluva find! Great score on parts. Looks great. I've recently done my steering wheel too. No biggie, but you will need a wheel puller.

Awesome build! I know it will turn out great.

Just to keep in mind, I believe the 2001-2005 GS430 airbag is two-stage, and not compatible with the 1998-2000 model GSX00 that are single stage. If you can find an RX300 airbag, those are single stage and will work. You can use the RX300 center piece airbag with the surrounding GS430 main wheel.

I know some do not care about this though, and I do not know if this even matters with the electronic side of things ECU and module-wise that come with a swap.

It will not physically plug in from connector to connector. I'll provide a great thread link below.

If the GS430 one has two plugs on the bag of it on the airbag, it is dual stage.

The airbag on the 1998-200 have one plug for single stage.

The airbag is attached with only four bolts on the back of the middle section. You can remove it from any RX300 with a single stage unit, and bolt it back into the backing of the GS430 middle section, once you've removed that dual stage airbag with the four bolts.

I just realized you found a GS430 wheel with no wood grain! That's my favorite one, congrats.

Of course, there is no problem! You definitely got lucky all around. I'll be tuning in, thanks for sharing the build!

Good progress. Most bend the one nearest to the center of the car slightly toward the passenger side.

Wow! Making some great progress.
A couple of other items to consider while you're in there:
VVTI seal rebuild
Timing belt tensioner

I went ahead and bought the tensioner
the vvti seal looks like a hard work I might just get another vvti pulley if it starts leaking. it looks in pretty good shape.

So i had time on the weekend to work a little more on the project.
so i went to my friends shop where we doing the swap.
we worked on it after his work hours closed the shop and started working.
we got the engine in. yesss finally.

Jacking the engine up

it was a little tight, it would've been easier if we took the ac condenser out. but we got in.

well yes it's a GTE now

I need to cut here so i can fit the intercooler pipe. CXRacing didn't say that or write that anywhere. It just says ( GS300 intercooler kit for 2jzgte swap ) i'll contact them and see what they say.

this is on my friends GTE
mine is broken from the left side of the picture. where the hose goes.
i ordered one from ebay today. i hope it gets here soon.

I'll try some throttle cables. Ill go to the junkyard and look for a v8 gs400 and a camry 2001 or older. I read somewhere that a camry one will. I tried to find the post again but i couldn't.

Oil pressure and boost.

thats all what we did in the weekend.

Now this is the finals week. I'll update next weekend.

Awesome job, cant wait to see more pictures, keep up the good work. Throttle cable I know you can get the correct cable from driftmotion for $70 plus tax but I did see on some post someone said you could use the camry throttle or the gs400

Did you paint the cover on the engine or buy a new one?
