Not really easier to go flat but so much easier to damage the rim. There is almost nothing protecting your rim from the road. One pot hole or road imperfection and you'll end up with a cracked/bent rim.
Something else to keep in mind is that the stress the side wall can carry is also hindered, so handling at speed will be drastically reduced.
Just food for thought but I would never go with anything below a 35 series tire.
