Default My PoorLS

Hey guys. Had the car for a while. Its a 2000 Platinum Series. Been toying with the idea of doing a small "build" for a while. I had a 92 that was dumped. Sold it to my roommate and now its the daily's turn. Had 18x10s on the other one, sold them and bought new wheels that I'm sure everyone will have a really strong opinion on. Bought a set of pearl white 17x9 +13 95 volk c ultras with the polished lip. Got them for a steal. Need a few things to get them mounted. But they clear everything great. Coilovers should be here soon, and right now I'm figuring out tire sizes. Can't decide if I want to go track stance with some meaty sidewalls or dump it. Leaning toward track stance so it retains some ride quality, anyways, on to the pics...going for totally 90s japan.

welcome! i dig the c-ultras, those are forged wheels which people aren't too familiar with. with 17s you will need to go meaty tires to match your theme. it's rare to see 17s on these cars, but it looks good so far.

Thanks man. I dont see any on 17s unfortunately. I love smaller wheels. With the right tire i think theyre gonna look awesome. Ive always loved the 90s japan track and old school drift cars and i just saw the wheels pop up and thought why not. Its a daily so i dont plan on going too rediculous with it. Just a simple clean 90s track inspired ls.

I have never seen a ucf 20+ on nice 17's, most are oem from other models

So i screwed around and realized meaty tires asnt necessarily my style so me and my roommate came to an agreement to trade them to him for my old wheels. 18x10 +0 saleen reps. Same wheels i had on my old car pictured below. Also my roommates sc that some of you might know and hate. And before someone asks its an evo 8 wing.

AWWW i was looking forward to see the LS400 with the c-ultras. the saleen reps will look decent too being bigger and wider.

Cools were backordered so i canceled. Now im thinking about going very stiff. I probably am going to go 18k 20k bc racing witht he swift spring upgrade, or 30k 32k. I need it to be a descent ride for 4 hours on the highway to Tampa about once a month. Anyone have input on this?

the standard 8k 10k 12k (i don't remember the rates) are plenty decent and comfy for long hours on the highway. going 30k or higher are for those with titanium spines, who like to ride millimeters off the ground, unless that's your goal. the tires are pretty much the ones absorbing the road at that point.

i've driven with extremely stiff spring rates (albeit on a Q45) and i could barely keep constant pressure on the accelerator as i struck bumps down the road. be warned (though i admit it was fun, until i got tired...after 5 miles).

Volks arent out of the question yet. I may still run them. I don't know yet lol. I've got to order tires soon because my current set is about destroyed. And being the daily i feel as though a fat tire could be nice. Track stance might be what happens!

Its official. volks are ago. Ill be finding tires as soon as possible. and then we'll be in business!
