Yeah the in-laws were in a pinch and needed the brakes serviced prior to visiting us in San Diego and couldn't get scheduled in time to the Dealer up in Las Vegas and they took it to a local mechanic who more than likely threw them away.

Howd' the actuator lock project work out for you? Only my rear drivers door works the others are toast!

Haven't had the time to do them just yet, I suffered a injury during BJJ training that has sidelined me for a bit. Even our brake project is on hold. We've been doing the easy mods for now till I fully recover

Thanks for the kind words, and I will definitely post the project details when we do our actuators.
Good Luck with your swap, wish we could do the same but daughter is fine with current powerplant so that leaves us more $$$ to do other mods

Well I've finally recovered enough from my level II MCL tear to start working on my daughters GS300 again. We were a little stumped on where to apply the supplied grease MOLYKOTE (R) AS-880N GREASE that came with the OEM Lexus shim kit. Below are some pics of the supplied hardware for reference. Our initial thoughts were that the grease was for the sliding caliper pins, but since it was included with the shim kit we figured that it goes on the back of the pad where it contacts the shiny shim and the other black shim part.
Doesn't really matter now that we installed the pads and shims already, but it could serve as reference to those that come across this thread, since nobody replied to our inquiry on the Suspension/Brakes section.

We also ended up ordering over $500+ in OEM Lexus suspension parts (R/L Lower Ball Joints, R/L Outer Tie Rod Ends,R/L F/R Bump Stops) online, after discovering that our front struts were collapsed and the bump stops sheared in half. So we can't proceed with the install of our KYB struts till our parts arrive.

I'm gonna get on my soap box and vent a little bit Name: 497.gif

So I continued to work on the rear brakes of our GS300 to find out there is no rear brake pad retaining hardware! The pads are just sitting in the calipers. It pisses me off to no end that there are so called mechanics out there that would let a vehicle that they personally worked on leave their shop like this.

So I made an emergency trip to Autozone and picked this brake hardware kit due to some so-called mechanics incompetence. Some good did come out of this though. I learned the proper orientation of the shims.

While finishing up the brakes over the weekend, I forgot to mention and share that I re-installed the shims to their correct orientation. (Black rubberized shim goes underneath closest to the pad and the shiny metal shim which contacts the caliper pistons goes on the outside)

JW couldn't you just cut the shaft down with a angle grinder or something similar? keep up the good work, maintenance is always important
