Hey there,
4.083 gear came from prior gen of lexus is350. I believe my shop was able to swap the whole pumpkin over by switching the mount over from the new to the old? I can't remember exactly. The 8 speed tranny is okay with it.

Top speed becomes around 110mph in 6th, 7th, and 8th gear unfortunately; although a speed limiter removal may fix that. OVTuned found a limitation in the byte storage of the code with a max value of 255kph (which in theory would translate to about 121-124 mph top speed with the differential swap - have not tested yet)

Shifting is where the other issues arise. It gets a little wonky at times where it shifts earlier than usual, as it expected to be in a certain gear, sudden WOT pulls you may find it drops too many gears and you will bounce off the rev limiter (manual mode is okay otherwise). It's only the auto shift points that gets messed up as it tries to go to the gear it's programmed with.

Speedometer didn't change as speed readings come from a different sensor on the wheel hub. You will also definitely feel more torque - but 0-60 times I'm not sure how much it improves as there will be more shifts in between now.

MPG also drops, but I'm not really the most fuel saving person either so that will be impacted differently person to person.

*Copy pasted the reply over from prior PM messages and made some edits with most current info.

Hope that helps !

Thanks for that info.

It seems the transmission logics needs to be calibrated as well. Like you said, isn't OVtuning able to change all that in their newest tunes?

As we are talking in the other thread, do you think the traction control will interfere with the LSD installed?

What did you use to paint your calipers? I already have the fsport logos in white ready to go. Just waiting for better weather.
Calipers are wrapped this reflective blue. When the light reflects off of them they have this neon blue glow.
I'll upload some pics when I get a chance

Thanks for all of the great comments all!
I made an order for the Seibon Carbon Fiber TP side skirts - hopefully they'll get in soon.

Will get pics up as soon as I get them installed.

Haven't gotten with Orange Virus Tuning to see if they could get the shift logic worked out with the 4.083 swap.
I imagine it would be quite a bit of code change, but I will put it on my todo list to see if they can help me out with it.

As far as traction control goes - I feel like it probably would affect the LSD to some extent.
The electronics would attempt to limit engine power or even apply brakes to one side in order to send power to the correct wheel.

https://www.ovtuned.com/collections/...-tuner-package

Just purchased their newly released Flex Fuel Module!
I've been running their e85 handheld tune, but this is supposed to be the next best thing.
I'll keep you all posted whenever it ships and I get the updated tune.

Carbon Fiber Key Cover (March 2017)
While this cover styles the key fob nicely, the carbon fiber surrounding the fob seems to reduce the signal range of the fob pretty significantly.
I guess this is good, in a way, to reduce people attempting to amplify the signal to steal your car?

Paddle Shifter Extensions:
Black (Old Set)
A word of caution on this style of paddle shifter extensions - they run on the longer end, so the right side touches the cruise control a bit.
It doesn't really interfere with the functionality - but it does makes setting the cruise control more difficult.

Blue (New Set)
This style is better in my opinion - it clears the cruise control stalk complete and doesn't get in the way.
Although, it's a bit shorter than the above black version, it works about the same functionality wise.

Seibon Carbon Fiber Sideskirts (April 2017)
Fitment was pretty good - though I was surprised that Seibon doesn't come with perfect fitment. They look beautiful when they are installed though.
Installed pics to follow in next posting.

Seibon CF Sideskirts Installed (April 2017)
Out with the old (All-Fit Sides), in with the new! I wish these sit a bit lower overall, as the side profiles makes them hard to notice when looking from the side of the vehicle.
But boy oh boy do they look nice when you view them from the front back, or back to front.

Alright this should have me caught up for now...
Although more goodies are coming in of course :P
  • New KSport Front BBK (330mm, bit smaller than stock, but should weigh a crap ton less)
  • New AdamsRotors Rear Drilled rotors to match the KSport front drilled BBK rotors - wow I don't know how many times I spelled rotors in one line lol...
