Just a question why didn't you get a radiator that has the inlet and outlet on the passenger side?

That was my original intention, and I have found some for 240sx and 300zx that have that setup. But I couldn't find any with 1" tubes, and the core was smaller than the one that I bought. I wanted 1" tubes because there is so much more surface area and thus cooling capacity

Painted my cam gears... Bought a cheap timing belt off of ebay and cut it and wrapped around the belt surface to keep any paint off of the belt riding surface:

Installed cam gears and timing belt. Painted the water pump piece black. Now just have to wait for my new timing belt tensioner to come in so that I can button it all back up. Old one seemed to be leaking a little..

Here is my modified water neck. I didn't even need to have it welded at all. There is enough meat on it to get a clamp on.

You can see the piece that I cut off. I also shaved off a bit of the stock twins recirc bosses so that my probes will not be mounted way out.. I then tapped the front port for 1/8 npt for my AEM coolant temp gauge sender. The other I tapped for 1/4" npt for my electric fan relay thermostat which unfortunately was 1/8", so I had to use a 1/4" - 1/8" bushing.

I do have everything mounted and back together, and took it for a cruise. Man the car pulls hard all the way to redline. The cams give the exhaust a little more of a throaty sound, but there is no noticeable lope. You would never know that the car is cammed. The tune does not seem to have changed, and idle is fine. These BC264 cams were indeed DIRECT DROP IN.

I will post pics of the complete setup after I tidy up my temp probe wiring

LMAO. yeah man, once I get started, I just can't stop. The toughy is going to be the transmission because I just don't feel like doing it lol. Plus the fact that I have to freight it out to ATF Speed down in FL for an upgrade at the tune of over $3k.. But, it's GOT to get done lol

Well, the off season is officially over, and I ended up going a different route with the transmission. Ended up going with a CD009 swap rather than having the auto built. Figured that the CD009 can supposedly handle just as much as my built 1JZ auto trans would be able to, and I would then be stick shift. And all for about the same amount of money (although much more sweat equity in cd009).

Here is link to my cd009 build thread for those interested:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...1jz-sc400.html

The CD009 endeavor was originally supposed to be just a simple trans swap. But it ended up kind of being more of a build in itself as I will need to pull the motor to fit the beast in there. While out, I will be removing AC and related components and freshening up the bay.

So, I will post a pic here after everything is all buttoned back up to show the new radiator setup and bay layout

Forgot to post a pic in this thread of how it all turned out. Here it is: I ended up pulling the wire harness all the way back to the driver side fender and routed it under the fenders so that there are no wires by the shock towers. Painted the bay as well. And you can see how the radiator setup looks, and how much nicer it is to have a clear view of the cam gears without the radiator return pipe in the way. The car runs cooler as well with this radiator

(I know, I need a better catch can arrangement lol)
