GS300 goes racing!
As the title says, the idea is to build a GS race car... but first, a quick introduction.
I've always been into racing, totally addicted, be it just watching or driving on the track myself. By the way, I'm from Luxembourg / Europe, so plenty of great tracks around here (Spa Francorchamps, Nürburgring, Zolder, Hockenheimring, Dijon-Prenois, aso...) where I've been able to witness a whole lot of great racing since I was a kid and later on, drive there myself.
I've been building my own track toys for some time now and enjoy that process almost as much as the driving itself.
Here's just a few of them
MX5 Turbo
Nissan Skyline GTR R32
Nissan Silvia PS13
Nissan Skyline R32 GTST
Seat Leon Supercopa MK2
Ok, the Seat was bought, not build
Anyway, I've had my 2nd gen GS300 for 4 years now. Driven it 2 years on a daily basis and now it's been sitting around catching dust for a whole while.
Since these Lexus'es (Lexi, Lexus'... what's the plural actually of Lexus?!?) are so damn cheap over here, there's no point in selling the car, especially since it's in such a good shape. So I thought I might as well start another track car build.
Here's what it's been looking like lately, just sitting around:
I've since started to take it apart and am slowly collecting parts. I'll put up the details as the build evolves. First, it will be completely stripped before the manual conversion will be tackled. At first, I'll use a R154 gearbox but that probably won't be the final choice. Pedal box and seat position will be next before it's getting a full FIA spec roll cage.
Also, I've just come back from Gatebil / Rudskogen 2 days ago and there were soooo many 2jz-powered cars, it was ridiculous. But on the other hand, that was the best opportunity to collect ideas and I have quite a few now for the engine
Just a few from Gatebil Rudskogen

I'll post some more pics after the weekend!

Removed most of the wiring from the car and got me some dry ice to remove sound deadening.
One hour and 8kg of dry ice later...
I also picked up the flat bottom of a Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo, which I'll trim to fit the GS. These panels have a honey comb structure, so they are super light while being very rigid.

I didn't have much time to work on the GS lately. Was mainly preparing the Supercopa for a time attack event which we finished 2nd in class (FWD Pro) and this upcoming Saturday, we'll run it at a charity event. So that was the main occupation.
But, I didn't leave the Lexus out. Received the Serialnine Breed fenders (front and rears), so I quickly test fitted the fronts which fit nicely. Don't judge by the picture, still need to drill some and the bumper and headlights are loose. Up next are the rear overfenders.
