Hey guys, just wanted too share my build ands maybe get some pointers and tips along the way.

Here is the motor on it's way home the other day.

In the garage still on the skid

Up and on the motor stand

Wire harness removed

Twins removed

That's it for now until more goodies come.
Can some one tell me what this nipple is on the exhaust side of the block towards the rear?

Also what is the part number for the ge water pipe so I can clear the coolant lines up a bit? Thanks fellas!

Btw here's the car it is going into.

So took of the valve covers, cam gears ands timing belt to replace the cam gear seals and belt.

Motor seems to look and be in excellent shape, extremely clean so far.
Thought I stripped the oil pump housing where the tensioner bolts go the but luckily it was just the screw threads that rounded off.it was my own fault though since I used a 1/4 impact, note to self every thing gets installed by hand.

Nice, VQ engines are lots of fun and sound great from the factory, but you will absolutely love how this thing sounds and revs!

If you find out what that nipple goes to let us know. My buddy has a ge vvti engine that has that same nipple. Nothing was connected to it when he pulled the engine. My guess is some pressure bypass or something for when the water pump goes out. It must be a newer gte because the motor my buddy has is out of a 97 sc300. I would highly suggest resealing upper and lower oil pans, rear main, front main, and some even change the oil pump. If you do change oil pump buy a new one from Toyota and send it to Don at Accelerated Performance to have it reworked. the new oem pumps from Toyota suck. and some people have even had issues where the pump wouldn't create oil pressure.

What engine management? How much power you shooting for?

Thanks fellas,I just want to get the motor in ands running with stock fuel ands ems for now. My car will/should function like stock with a wiring harness from wiring specialties.
So I'm using the "cheaper"cx racing manifold and ran into a few problems. Here it is just to show you guys, if you'd already don't know.

Here's the manifold when I received it.

Here it is with the snail mounted after I took a 5/8 drill bit to open the stud holes a little because this thing was not fitting.

Now I'm thinking what I should do here with these 2 on the bottom since I can't, get the nut on there.

Few questions .What should I do to/with the following?

This little nipple

This coolant line to the theory body from the head

?
Thanks guys

to get those 2 nuts on, you are probably going to have to pull that manifold back off. Then tape the nuts in position, then refit the mani back in position, and get the nuts started on the bolts
