Finally got the ISF back after nearly 7 weeks.
The repairer had pretty poor customer service, but at least the repair is top notch. Gaps are perfect & they even re-fit the Wald wing better than it was fitted before. Apart from the fresh paint, it certainly doesn't look like there was ever any repairs.
Only thing missing is my Toms rear diffuser, as it's still on backorder with Evasive.
To celebrate, fitted new Project Mu rotors & NS400 pads all round. They haven't fully bed in yet (I did follow the usual process though, but minimal kms so far), but are still a bit noisy (which is slowly going away). They do feel quite good already though, so I'm quite confident that I made the right choice.

Awesome!
Glad you got it back mate. Looks like they did a good job.
Think parts can take a while for these cars? Mine had a front fender which had to come in from Japan!
Think they had mine for 7-8 weeks too.
So nice to get it back though.
Nice treat for the car with the new rotors and pads.
Enjoy!

A lot can go wrong when you take the original engine out of a car and replace it with another one. Trust me. My first car went through that process and it didn't end well. Then again, I'm not forum member MR2QIK, nor do I own his 2009 IS F.

^Cheers!
Well tonight was a good night of ISF ownership. Got back from a another tiring business trip last night & had to drive the Wifey to a Hens night. Thought I'd reward myself with taking the F for a bit of cruise.
Driving through a bit of traffic, I noticed a ute behind me trying his best to catch up. He pulled alongside & started yelling, but I just ignored it & kept going. Began trying to recall if I had cut him off earlier or something & if this was about to turn into a road rage incident. A minute later, he caught up again near a stop light & signaled me to wind down my window. I obliged & to my surprise he just wanted to compliment me on the car, saying how it's the best of its kind he's ever seen & how he loves every detail of the car. Everything from height, camber, paint, carbon etc....I'm not big headed about it, but I do appreciate the few in the local car scene that take the time to compliment (I try to do the same).
Things got better on the way back. Decided to catch up with some friends who'd gathered for dinner @ a well known Sydney night spot. Just before I got to the area, spotted a matt blue wrapped F80 M4 with an akrapovic exhaust ahead of me. If you read back to the start of my thread, you'd see I initially considered an F80 over the ISF, so am always happy to indulge my eyes & ears when I encounter one. Turned off the main road & had no cars around us. I was behind & we approached a stop light that had just gone red. I pulled to the next lane & could see the signs the M4 owner wanted to have a go (could hear he was already waiting/coasting in 1st - auto). I switched to 1st (sport & manual shift for me of course) & punched it the moment the light went green. Slow roll, but dead even starting position & equal kinda reaction time. Both cars wheelspun & by the time I hit 2nd, I was clean ahead. By the time we hit 3rd I had increased the gap a bit (about half a car length ahead). Shortly after, we let off @ about the same time. Was a short run, but a good one nonetheless. It played out almost exactly the same as when the RCF beat the F80 on Fifth Gear in a drag race, except he never managed to reel in the ISF. As I turned off that street & the M4 passed by, I tried to give a wave of respect, but he had closed his window & passed by without even looking over (probably not so happy). Not saying the ISF is faster, in fact I'm confident the M4 would've eventually pulled me in, but given that's about as much of a run you generally have around here these days, it felt satisfying. One of the moments where I knew I had made the right choice. The F80's a truly magnificent car, but I believe the F's simply get out the hole better, which really helped it hold its own on the street.
End of rant, just had to share the good feeling.
