97-SC300 Single Turbo Build Thread
#212
Hi guys,
I understand we've been absent from this thread for a little bit. Been extremely busy. Lots of progress was made on the car both inside and out. Should have some nice pics in the upcoming weeks.
In the meantime, here are a couple pics of the finished center console. Just need to add two connectors for the line-lock switch and light indicator and it's good to go back in.
Shifter bezel was modified same as the previous one, but now with a fully removable boot/ring.

Time for an update!
With the winter season behind us (even though it's still nasty outside most of the time), we are getting closer and closer to completion on this. Plan is to mock up the intercooler, make brackets in the upcoming week and get the intercooler pipes fabbed shortly after. Then it should be off to SP for tuning.

Put the exhaust back on.
I had an issue with the 4" exhaust PHR made me a few years ago. The original fitment was a good amount off center, we had to improvise by adding a rubber spacer between the muffler and hanger to keep it from hitting the bumper. It worked fine, but was always under tension (was pulling the muffler toward the center of the car). While I was living in Ohio (small garage and no tools), it eventually gave out and the hanger tore off the muffler side. Still not sure why the fitment was off, perhaps had to do something with the RMM DP we were running at the time.
My dad fixed it for me by using a 5.5" clamp, and welding on an Audi exhaust hanger that he had in scrap parts. We measured everything, made it perfectly center this time and positioned it slightly lower than it was before. It actually burned the paint on the bumper pretty good, I corrected the paint as much as possible and reduced the discolored spot to a minimum, but there's still some left. I put clearbra around that area so that the paint doesn't get burned again (worked great!).
PHR made me a 4" midpipe and 4" downpipe this time around and fitment is perfect all around. Very happy about it.
