My second first generation. Love these cars. Sold my 92 so i can get my 94. Almost made it to full VIP with the 92 but didnt see a future with it. Didnt really document the first build. But for my 94 im definitely going to.

During the installation of the new alternator I realized that the original PS pump is leaking. Obviously causing the alternator to go. So instead of buying a new pump right away i bough the plug where its leaking from. Hopefully thatll work

So waiting on the plug to arrive my car started rough idling n hard starting. Right after that the check engine & airbag light went on.Soo i had to go oldschool N read the code through the blinks. Since i didnt have a obd1. So after reading the code it threw out a 31. Which im pretty sure everyone is familiar with. So now i have to get a mass air flow sensor. Thank god for ebay or idk what i would do in life. Now im just waiting on the sensor and plug

So i got the new MAF sensor and it ran good for awhile but the next day went back 2 the same symptoms. So i declared it to be the ECU. So i had it sent out to be repaired by tanin auto

If it's the one I am thinking of, two caps were leaking pretty bad. You should be good to go now.

So news update. Got my ECU. Plugged it in and it ran good for a second. But then went back 2 the same running condition.

Frustrated and confused i took the car out for a drive and realized that it was running way better then before. But still not running perfect. So i figured it needed a tune up.

During the tuneup I realized that the car has never had a tuneup. Spark plugs, wires, rotors and distributors are OG. Straight outa 1994. So no wonder it was driving like ****.

After the tuneup N everything was put back i started the car. When i started it the car was louder N was shaking harder then before. The exhaust was smoking. A quick look under the car n the catalytic converter was cherry red and smoking! So now i have 2 decide whether 2 chop off the converters N get straight pipes. Or just gut out the converters.

Cherry red converters with a misfire could also mean a plug wire/firing order is incorrect
