The evolution of my GS400

I wanted to keep the lines, doesn't look right to me when those body lines "disappear" in the middle of the fender. A little more body filler smoothing up may be a little more natural in the rear especially. At certain angles the rear is a little sharp.
Haven't had a third brake light since I switched trunks and got rid of the factory wing. I'd read that the wiring is there on the rear deck in all cars and decided to add an led strip at the top of the window while I had the headliner out. Haven't decided if it's too much but not hard to remove if I don't like it. When you cut the harness off, the white wire is negative and the two green wires need to combined for the positive. Don't mind the taillight, got an email in with depo trying to get a replacement.

Didn't take any pics but it was real simple. Got a roll of led strip, cut to length and stuck it to the back edge of the headliner. Hopefully the double sided tape holds alright on its own, we'll see on that. Remove the rear seat and c-pillars to slide the deck cover out of the way, you'll see the plug to hook up the 3rd brake light, it'll be there whether the car had one from the factory or one on the spoiler. The two green wires need to be joined together and connected to the positive wire from the led strip, the white wire is the negative. Run wires from there to the strip, test and reassemble.

I haven't had a chance to really drive it yet, what I can say is that when its in total darkness like in that picture there is enough glare that it's hard to see out the back window. Doesn't seem to be any issues if there's any outside light. I may try making a "shield" or housing to keep the light from bleeding down but I've got bigger things to deal with at the moment getting it ready for HIN on Saturday.

I like it, it reminds me of the Tesla or A7
Was gonna post that you should try to block the lower portion so it doesn't shine onto the rear shelf, but I see you've already considered it
I feel the same way about the rear fenders on our cars
Having tail light problems here too man, been waiting 3 months for a new set then the seller flaked on me, i'm choked, whole summer on freaking bulbs

SoCal Cyco is correct, bumpers are L-Sportline, a used kit will pop up fs once in a blue moon but there aren't too many around anymore.
The led strip is just a roll of 5050 chip leds from ebay, it was $10 for a 5 meter roll so material costs are minimal. You could probably find a shorter strip that would fit the housing on eBay as well.

Made it to HIN last weekend despite ongoing tire /wheel seal problems, raised the rear up just a little to almost eliminate the rubbing problems. Came home with a little piece of plastic with a sticker on it.
