Default The evolution of my GS400

I bought the car in May of 2008, first round of mods were Tanabe DF-210 springs and 20" L-Sportline wheels. Full led interior lights, Sonar LED tails and a Q45 retrofit were done shortly after, along with a diy chrome grill. I had a bunch of audio equipment laying around from my last car so I went to work on the GS.
Switched to 01 tails for a while and added LS400 front brakes and Magnaflow mufflers. Had an incident with a raccoon that required repairs to the front bumper so I had the side markers shaved while it was in the shop.

Steering wheel was getting worn so I found a wood wheel.

Spring of 2012 I decided it was time for a change with the headlights. Switched to LS460 projectors with clear lenses and a projector retrofit in the foglights. Also an 01+ grill with the diy chrome job and LED side mirrors.

2013 I switched to Megan coilovers and added a TTE rep lip, then L-Tuned sides, and a L-Sportline rear. Also a JDM chrome trunk bar and Mac Blick rep roof spoiler somewhere in there and 35% window tint.

Spring of 2014 I switched things up a fair amount, changing to Maya STM wheels, a spoilerless trunk with a Sportdesign style lip, JDM window visors, and quad projector fog lights, and a modified L-Tuned grill. Also illuminated door sills and puddle lights. Sometime over the last few years I changed to the 01+ gauge cluster bezel and matching center vents as well.

Turned some attention to the interior with Clazzio diamond stitched covers and door inserts. My shift **** was getting worn so I picked up a SC430 ****, also added a wood ashtray. The audio rebuild a few years back switched to a 3 way front stage with mids and tweeters in the kickpanels.

It's crazy how much just a set of sideskirts can change the whole profile of the car. You definitely have one of my favorite 2GS

Nice skirts and puddle lights. I love the seats though. Very, very nice!

I've always been a diy guy, almost all the work short of welding has been done myself. I saw the "vip" tables and figured I could make my own. I still have a little work to do on the rear armrest vinyl before I'm happy with it but took a few pics.

Also forgot to post the latest trunk pic after adding the crossovers in the sides and changing the sub amp. It was important to me to keep the spare tire and a little bit of trunk space so I've kept it relatively simple.

Spent some time on the engine bay this winter, polishing the intake manifold, cam covers, and thermostat inlet. Added the K&N intake sanded smooth and painted gloss black along with a homemade heat shield (bought the intake without one) and painted engine covers and the strut tower bar.

The L-Sportline front bumper will be going in for paint shortly, almost have the old paint sanded off.

No pic but I sold the Sonar tails for Depos this winter and have a GS300 3.92 rear differential waiting for install. I have a few other things planned I'll add here as I get to them.

I'm really liking that setup in the rear. That's pretty tidy! I wouldn't have the tray tables or added bits in mine as it would just be extra weight, but I admire what you've done man. That's a smart piece of work, especially the trunk install.

Keep it up

I'm still thinking you should sell the rear consoles considering Garson/D.A.D. is asking $850 for them.... just saying

Thanks again Tony, was almost tempted to get your sides too to have the complete L-Sportline kit but like the L-Tuned better. The weather is starting to feel like spring here so I gotta hurry up and get things together!

Here's one of me being a dork to put a face to the thread.

HIN fall of 2014 was my first time doing the car show thing, took 1st place Lexus and VIP, obviously competition in MN isn't as stiff as other places. This basically lead to the work over this winter, trying to make it a slightly more complete "show" car.
