Awesome so far! I too have a 97 and have grabbed a VVTI 1j, just piling up the parts so that it can all happen.. Keep us posted, I'll be referencing this lol

Nice pick up man...honestly to me the 1JZ VVT-i sounds the best when built...the sound is pure love plus you can't beat the single platform from factory. As far as your build goes just be patient and grab the best deals. Don't rush because you may forget something and have to redo a few things which can be a headache. The only thing I need now is a MK4 Supra power steering reservoir and I'm all set to go. This is my official build thread so I'll continue to update this thread entirely

So today I got around to swapping out my old gas tank due to the car sitting so long. Replaced the tank with a used rust free tank. I don't want bad gas as well as the rust particles that emptied out running through my new motor.

So this is why I swapped out my tank...as you can see it's pretty much done. Drained the old tank and straight rust bits as well as white clumps of poisonous marshmallows came out lol the smell itself reeks and has filled the garage but the new tank is in. I have to air out the garage and toss the old tank Definitely didn't want to do a swap and have this in the car.

Want to give another huge shout out to the team over at Driftmotion for amazing service and quick shipping on another piece of the puzzle. Earlier this week my old OEM ps hose decided to strip due to age...I decided to buy the DM High Pressure power steering hose with black outter jacket for longevity. The quality and feel is like no other. Car should be done this week if the Florida rain decides to stop a few days.

Got these in a trade for my old GE long block & trans ☺ These will be going in my SC once the bracket tabs are swapped over. I also plan to re-do the driver seat in time, but for now this was a win for me seeing I paid nothing for them and was able to clear up the garage of unnecessary parts.
