Default Kingskii's 95 SC400 Journey

Instagram is cool and all but I love scrolling through forums and reading up on peoples builds. So I decide to document the journey of my 95 SC400. She's a two owner (3 if you count me), 334k thing of beauty with a paper trail sitting taller then a Big Mac. The second owner loved this car since the day he picked it up with 57k on the clock. Took his wife on their first date together with the car. I told him it was in good hands as we got a photo together in-front of the car one last time as he teared up. So I've had the car for almost a year now and its definitely had its ups and downs like any high mileage car do. But I'm enjoying the journey of making it mine and upgrading and repairing and learning how the V8 operates.

Current goal in mind for her is to build a clean street cruiser ( TLC the V8, Manual Swap, Exhaust, LS400 FR Brakes, Supra TT Rear Brakes, Suspension, Seats, Retrofits Headlights, Clean up the body, Paint). Below is my whats done so far and will update as I go.

Well been chasing a misfire and finally got it sorted and went ahead and did valve cover/throttle body gaskets while I was in there. Painted the valve covers which you can see the process pics above. Misfire was bad plug wires that I had just recently replaced. NGK from here on out.

Been stock piling parts and things I need for the manual swap. I went ahead and drilled through the fire wall and installed my Grannas MKIV Supra clutch pedal, master cylinder and Manual Brake Pedal to get the ball rolling. Went pretty straight forward overcall on the install and I'm getting excited. Pretty much just need to make room in the garage so I can get it up in the air and start pulling the transmission. Order and received my Collins Kit swap kit and did the aluminum drive shaft option when ordering.

Ive been keeping my eye for Supra calipers on the web and local deals. Saw a guy in a FB group say a Toyota Parts Dealer in IL had new mk4 calipers available. So I check and scooped up the fronts and rears. Need to order up some rotors, pads and some new SS lines. Need to do some research on good pads and rotors, not looking for racecar style stuff but we'll see.

New parts acquired:
- MK4 Supra Front/Rear Calipers
- Collins KA/SR Transmission Swap kit w/ aluminum DS
- SC300 rubber shift boot surrounding.

Got another huge boxes full of parts not pictured:

Also I like in FL so grabbed some Stormy weather pics:

Looking good so far!! The manual transmission swap will transform that 1UZ and the car as a whole. Then your suspension work and brake upgrades will bring it into line as a classic GT driving machine!

So I've finally started my swap on the transmission. Got the garage clean out and she's parked inside and up on jack stands. Monday I was able to get the transmission out, just need to pull the torque converter next but got my wisdom teeth pulled so can't do wrenching on the car while I heal. Hopefully by the weekend I can start back up. Heres a few pics I snapped

Got some more work done on it after healing from the wisdom teeth removal but now I'm doing all over again as I just got my right side removed yesterday. So playing the waiting game again. Im not rush as this isn't my daily and I'm cleaning things up as I remove, replace and install parts. So heres what I've got done and also picked up recently.

- Trans all out with Torque converter and flex plate. Trans was rebuild prior to my ownership. Rear main seal looked good but replacing anyways cause why not. Regasketing the rear plate and installing seal Pending.
- EGR and piping deleted and capped with resistor plugged in harness to trick ECU (lextreme kit)
- Wired in GPS controller for the speedo since Toyota is 2 wire and Nissan is 3 wire.
- Seals replaced on KA trans and new slave installed. Clutch line from Chasebays wrapped in heat protection since its going to set next to Cats on the passenger side.
- Need to drill out stud on Cat as it snapped when trying to remove and other two area pain to get to. Gonna drill and but a nut and bolt on that corner. Hammer the cat a little for clearance and then try wrapping the cats in exhaust wrap to help with heat being close tot he slave. Ideally I was going to take the cat off and gut them but its looking like I'm gonna have to do that with the on the car since I can't get them off.
- Picked up fog light vents on a BB sale from StrooderMade. Since mine crumbled when I removed them.
- Id been looking all year but everything was either to overpriced or to far away. Finally found a pair of Evo 8 seats in my area for a good Price and I couldn't say no so I stopped them up. Ordered some Planted seat brackets that should be here before end of the month.

Slow and steady but we getting there. Heres a few pics

Man, I just can't get enough of this thing. If I wouldn't have sold my old SC4 this is the exact way I'd put one together today. A big V8 in a beautiful coupe with some great bolt ons... Doesn't get any better than than!
