Default FSportDRM IS350 Minibuild

I'm wondering how many members who purchased an IS told themselves "I'm leaving it stock"...... Well that was the case with me, needless to say the mod bug hit me after seeing many great builds on here.

Here she is when I first got it:

I quickly decided to lower the car, deciding what route to go was pretty difficult. I did not want to lose the comfort of the stock ride but I also didn't want the stock gap. I ordered some RS*R Down Springs, had them installed and wasn't impressed with the drop, but the ride itself felt great! When I got home after taking the RS*R box out of the trunk I noticed that they were Half-Downs and not Down Springs. This is how she turned out:

As I looked at wheel after wheel to decide what I wanted, I decided to install the FSport Intake ...thanks Sewell!

And then a Magnaflow Axle-Back

Looking at all the great wheels everyone has installed I was looking to get some Vossen's but didn't like the idea of going with 20's. I looked at 19 inch wheels as an option but couldn't decided whether it was worth it. I decided to stick with 18's and went with some Bronze Work Kiwami 18x8.5 +38 up front and 18x9.5 +38 in the rear on stock tires. I will eventually change the tires out, but for now these are good to go. Still waiting on center caps....

I'm not sure where I am going with this build but I do know I want to make the car different than other F Sports out there, it will be a challenge but look forward to it.

what are the tire specs for your Work Kiwamis are they the Bridgestone Turanzas 225/40/18 and 255/35/18's? Any rubbing in the rear? do you have more side profile on your rear wheels

BTW work wheels looks really nice

Thanks! Yes they are the Bridgestones. No rubbing in the rear, as matter of fact I could probably go with a wider tire, lower it about another .5" and not have any rubbing.

Wheel specs are
18x8.5 +38 Front
18x9.5 +38 Rear

Ill get better pictures once I get my center caps in.

I'm getting the same set different color matte gunmetal.

Could you go 265/35/18 on the rears with the same offset +38 without rubbing and no fender mods?

I think you should be fine, theres plenty of room as long as you dont go too low.

How are you liking the half downs once they settled? I'm having a hard time deciding between half-downs or the down as well as 18" vs 19" wheels. Like you said I thought I would keep my car stock when I got it last year but just keep seeing some great setups so far

The half downs are great, it gives it that BMW stock height look. If you put it besides a stock IS you can tell its lowered. The comfort level is great, not stock but close enough to it. If you really want that dropped look I think the downs would be best, if not coilovers. I think once my commute shortens I will end up going lower. I would prefer to keep the AVS though so hopefully we get some compatible shocks..

Yeah that should be a great setup, I doubt you will rub.

I know what you mean! When do you expect them?

To my surprise I received my Tom's Push Button! Glad I purchased this, I think it looks much better than the stock button and keeps the interior color.
