Been a while. I finally saved enough to finish my rear deck sub box. Working on it now.

New system setup:
BOSS Audio BV9362BI Headunit (Will be upgraded later)
2 Rockford Fosgate P2D2-8's
MB Quart rkm116's
MB Quart OSC216's
Rockford Fosgate R500x1d Prime (For Subs)
& when I replace the headunit, Rockford Fosgate R300x4 Prime (For Speakers)
With a custom amp kit.

This is the base for my sub box

I cut holes in the bottom of the box to lower the subs for better viability.

The middle piece is a 1"x5"x7" chunk of acrylic. What I do with that will be a surprise.

His new album, Special Effects, is awesome. I'm trying to decide what song should be played on my system first. I'm thinking Red Nose or Delusional. I'll update as much as I can. This is what I did yesterday.

I ran a round over bit on my speaker rings and the support walls using my homemade circle jig/Router table

Wrapped the sub box in fleece. I'm thirsty now for some reason.

whoa, that wrap scared me lol. i think something classier would look nicer but hey if you love Coke then go ahead lol. you're doing some awesome stuff by the way, i'll be trying to build a custom rear seat deck for some amps so this is great inspiration. what are the fins for on the rear deck though?

Haha. Didn't mean to scare anyone. It will be covered in vinyl when i'm done. The fins are the walls that separate the subs from the 6.5's. The box should be about .5 cuft which is what the subs are rated for.

Doing a vented enclosure would have been a lot easier.

Wow SSmith, your build is awesome. Thanks for the advise but difficulty never crossed my mind when I came up with this project. I saw so many different aftermarket sub locations in this forum but I didn't see anyone use the rear deck. The more I researched subs and boxes, the more I liked the Idea of using the rear deck

Today's update.

Resin on the fleece and sanded smooth. I ran out of fiberglass mat so that's about as far as I can go with the box.

Started and just about finished the amp rack. It goes where the stock CD changer was.

I recommend against u-seal and that other roofing material. It is asphalt-based, so it will stink in high heat and it will also start leaking fluid and eventually fall off, defeating the purpose of even having installed it in the first place.
Save the money up and get butyl-based CLD tiles. It'll be worth it in the long run.

Also are you planning on bagging this car? I noticed the Viair boxes and you're avoiding using the trunk for a system.

The useal has been working well on the door panel for me so far. It's constantly 90 degrees and above with the sun beating on my car and it hasn't leaked or started peeling off. That being said, you're right I need to upgrade soon.

I routed the power wire down the drivers side, tried to cross the wire over to the amp rack location and found out I should have ordered 19 feet of wire instead of 17. Sooo, that rack will be for the 4-channel later on. Mono amp is on the drivers side Bolted to a piece of plywood.

Took out my seat, pulled some useless wiring, and found a thread tap under the carpet.
