I'm starting to get antsy. I'm hoping to get the car back in the next few days with the BC coilovers, OS Giken TCD, and FIGS bushings installed. I'm expecting a pretty significant change in corner exit afterwards.
I was considering heading up to Cecil County Dragway this Saturday to test the launch, but the weather forecast is calling for rain.

Nice project!
Be interested to know how you get on with the OS Giken TCD and BC Coilovers.
BC seem great value when compared to say the KW's. I appreciate they are two very different products before anyone starts on me, but we had some good results with the BC stuff back when I supported a couple of guys who did Time Attack in the UK (BC were one of the sponsors of the series. Think they still are?!).
Got to say wow on the whole wife buying you headers! She then gets them installed and dyno's the car for you while you are overseas?! That's a real keeper you got there chap!
Whilst my steering wheel is on the wrong side for you guys, our cars are very similar in most other respects.
Just turned 50K miles on mine, also a 2008 and in the same colour (they call it Cadoxtine Slate over here for some strange reason!).
Are 16K front / 12K rear the recommended spring rates then? Just wondered what FIGS specify for these as the default values?? Aren't the swift springs meant more for track use??
Great read so far though. Look forward to more when you get a chance.

16k/12k spring rates are what was suggested to me for spring rates that will be firm but not too over the top.

I met a guy at a Freed Engineering meet 2 weeks ago who imports a lot of Japanese parts. He said that some wheel companies like Weds and Volk will do custom offsets on their wheels even if they don't advertise it. If this is possible I may have to have him order some Wedssport SA67R wheels in Gunmetallic. They are lighter than the stockers and I could run 19x9 fronts and 19x10 rears. The advertised offsets are a little aggressive to run wide tires on the ISF, but if custom offsets are available then it's game on. This has always been one of my favorite wheels.

Go 10.5 on the rears for an ideal 295/30/19 fitment especially if you can get the 2012+ offset. The 9" on the front will run a 255/35/19 for the ideal diameter compared to stock which means the suspension geometry will work as intended. I'm running 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 on the late model 8.5 and 9.5 rims. I am not certain the diameters work well compared to the stock sizes. With the smaller size, scrub radius is a bit lower than stock, even though the offsets are what Lexus determined to be best for these rims on the 2012 and later models.

I really like Wedssport, so I'm going to see what's possible in one of their other wheels. I may just end up getting TC105Ns in 18x9 & 18x10.5 if they can do reasonable offsets. We'll see. I'll let everybody know what's possible.

Unfortunately the guy got back to me today and said that the SA67R has been discontinued and there are only a few sets of standard offsets available, which would be 19x9 +35 and 19x10 +42...too aggressive to run wide tires. BTW, Wedssport never made a 10.5" wheel in the SA67R to my knowledge or I would have been looking at that.

That's a real shame. I'm a huge fan of those wheels too!
Please do let us know what you find. I'll probably follow your lead!
Car is looking good dude.

So, it turns out that vendor was confused. He can't get custom offsets for any form flow cast 1 piece wheels (as I originally thought). I guess the search continues...it sucks trying to find high quality wheels at a reasonable price that fit our cars.

I looked a year or so ago at Advan Racing wheels and couldn't find offsets I liked, but it looks like the Advan RSII has an option I may consider. Since I can't justify paying 4-6k for a good set of monoblock forged 19" wheels, this may end up being an option for me...$2800 a set online:
Advan Racing RSII in Hyper Black
19x9 +45 front
19x9.5 +50 rear
I'm not sure of the exact weights, but they should be right around 19-20 lbs a piece...which puts them lighter than most comparable wheels.
What do you all think? I could mount 265/35R19 or 275/30R19 FRONT and 285/30R19 or 295/30R19 REAR. This seems like a pretty good option for the ISF.

Let us know if you go down this road for sure dude. Be interested to see what you think of them.
May be a dumb question, but why would you not go for the standard sized Wedsports that are on offer? I'm guessing you're trying to fill the arches more, but the photos I've seen look pretty nice?
Are you planning on doing any arch rolling fettling to make these fit?
I'm probably looking to get a set of coilovers for a slight drop to the stock setup, but would prefer not to cut or roll my arches if possible.
The Advans look like a good option for sure though.

Just re-read your earlier posts. Answered my own question about the standard Wedsports.
Do we need to run a really wide tyre though? I'm not disagreeing the stock sizes could do with improving, but what's the widest I can go on those stock offset Wedsports without rubbing?
It's such a nightmare trying to get things like this spot on!
I do bow down to all those out there that understand and get all this stuff!
Quite a skill to be able to pick the right wheels, and then the right tyres.

With the SA67R wheels 19x9 +35 and 19x10 +42 you could runn 255/30R19 front and 285/30R19 rear (probably need a slight roll depending on ride height). The SA67R wheels are discontinued from what I've heard so if you want them you'd better find a set quick.

So I just saw that BC Forged wheels is now (FINALLY) offering their monoblock forged lines in 19"!!! Up until now it's only been for 17"/18". I don't know the pricing, but previously BC Forged was decently less expensive than all other forged wheels I could find. Hopefully they haven't jacked up their prices recently.
