Default My 1993 Lexus LS400 (australian delivered)

hi all,

bout time i got off my *** and did a build thread i reckon...
ive had to troll through the forum to find my threads over the years of all the stuff thats done so bear with me
some of these posts are from a while ago so it will seem everything has happened as once where in fact its been a few years

bought her a few years ago around xmas time.. always wanted one..

getting around 11.6ltrs per 100km.. which is pretty good

this is how i got her

front lowered 40mm
back lowered 50mm

just lowered springs. mine didnt come with the air suspension..

tyres are 225/35/20 its only ever scrubbed at full lock right and only if im going up something and even then its just the inner guard it rubs

well had some issues

destroying tyres - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls40...destroyed.html

which has lead to a major service - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls40...coilovers.html

so since she shreaded another set of tyres a full run down while she is getting sorted. so whats happening..

250k service
oils - engine, auto and diff
filters - oil, air, gearbox and fuel
spark plugs
spark plug leads
dizzy caps and internal rotor buttons
ecu capacitor replacement for the factory ecu until i get the haltech
found a front engine leak while she was on the hoist - so front engine seal and cam seals replaced as all were leaking
since the front of the engine is off, timing belt and water pump replaced

steering rack is leaking so full service on that.

all suspensions bushes checked out

coil over suspension fitted both front and rear, BC racing system

Fig engineering rear chamber arms to get the rears sitting up properly after being lowered

complete new set of tyres

wheel balance and alignment once height is set with coil overs

hopefully after all this trouble free motoring for a while

after a bit fuel economy started to go south.. did some research and found out about th water temp sensor for the ecu do get sluggish with time...

thread here - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...ange-pics.html

turns out i got the wrong sensor and my original was snapped in 2.

so changed over to the wrong sensor and the economy improved but not by much..

so got the right sensor and swapped out and got an extra 200km to a tank of fuel.. only goes to show the right sensor is always needed...

but now im getting the ecu issues to a degree..

sometimes she is a bit sluggish and it feels like ya gotta push her to go.. and sometimes the kick down on the auto box wont engage..

so i think its time for the original ecu to go...

here comes the exciting part..

Haltech have released there Elite ecu.. it will function all of the original ecu equipment it controls.. http://www.haltech.com/new-haltech-elite-series-ecus/

fortunately im a custom auto electrician - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Zap-B...2298027?ref=hl

and a very good mate of mine is a top notch dyno tuner and a very clever and brainy dude...

so now im working on a way to get it to work in our cars...

so once i get it sorted.

ill offer it to the public once its all locked down functional and solid.

this unit once finished with be PLUG AND PLAY.. so remove your old tied ecu.. plug this new one in and it will have my working maps for motor and box for those 89-92 model non VVTI

there are some different ecu configs for the early 1uz but its just a matter of changing it in the software. no rewiring needed at all.. simple and easy..

ill try to get a operation manual sorted as well with the software changes for the different models with this ecu plug

plus the additional working of this ecu are awesome..
the input and outputs not used will be on a deutsch plug off the patch loom for ease of connection to your additional stuff you need to run

some of the features
closed loop 02 working off both banks
closed loop boost control if ya running turbos

just to name a few

ok ive started on the box to keep it "stock" looking..

i can do this as just a patch lead without the box as well..

can set it up so you can do away with the air flow meter to and run off a map sensor which is a massive bonus for these cars as we know..
