print look ssoooooooo coooolll!!!!! but has fitment issues, back to the modeling and drawing board. first off the clips on the end are too short and i didn't notice a taper in the prongs, the actually get bigger towards the body of the light. other then that, they're perfect length and the next print should fit a lot better and i'll start trying to fit it inside the headlight so there are no gaps inside the light.
forgot the pictures
again there is no shape, just a test print for scale purposes

Stay focused man. I'm wishing you luck.
I know first hand that projects that take too long or have breaks in between have a higher chance of never getting done or being abandoned. Key is to to try and make a little progress (no matter how small) every chance possible and keeping it relative on your priority list.

thanks for the motivation. i'm pretty good at staying on track. even if i don't work on something for a while (due to school) i always seem to come back to it no problem. especially something like this which is right in my alley of work and interest.

BIG UPDATE!!!!!! been modelin the lights all night. had a few hiccups in terms of design and went with a swooping back design that leads into the main L shape, for now doing just a single because it's already a bit complex, will be adding a small tab inside the L shape which is where the LEDs will stick to. this is getting really exciting gonna print this tomorrow and see how it fits. it's mostly freehanded now and the measurements were sort of just there. i did make calculated adjustments to the prongs and the entire scale of the object.

lookin good Now we can envision more of the design instead of just a square or whatever the first one was haha. Was kind of confused at first but I forgot it was a test fit print. I want to see these done lol
Btw, the city tube came today. Just so I don't have to message you lol. Thanks

Yep its finally taking shape, submitting the print to the library right now. Hopefully I'll get out from work early and can pick it up if its done, if not then tomorrow it should be done.

well the print came out huge lol. doesn't fit int he light and cost way too much, lots of adjustments will need to be made.
here's some pictures of cleaning up the rafts (supports that hold suspended plastic)
it's ABS hard shell plastic so it is not fun getting this stuff off the model. some parts are easier than others but this was a Beeotch with the big hole in the front.
the model itself
and the shrapnel (because it goes flying in your face when it breaks)

Back to the drawing board haha. When you say it came out huge, Do you mean it printed wrong or you underestimated the size of some of the parts or something? And if you don't mind, how much did they charge for this? Just curious haha

i miscalculated it lol. i really didn't measure anything, i just went with it and wanted it to look good. so now just have to shrink it and simplify the inside of it because i'm wasting plastic on the inside. they charged me $11, the last one was $1.93 lol. they charge 10 cents by the gram
