Ha!
My wife said "Tell all of your car buddies from the blue web site that nothing else will be done to this car for years".
WoW
But, my parts come in the daytime (she wks 9-7) so........... never know.
Doing small maintenance stuff now for the most part.
Between the power and the NYC potholes, the car has to go up on the lift every two weeks to be tightened up. I am going to try replacing all the bolts that routinely come loose.
We took it on a 500 mile trip to Va. last week. It ran wonderfully!! 70-110 MPH for hours......

I drive the 400 with winter wheels and Nokia Hakkapeliitta snow tires. NYC gets cleaned up pretty much immediately if you live in Manhattan, unless it's a huge storm. I am thinking about an SUV but 3 vehicles is ridiculous in NYC and I can't bring myself to sell either Sc.
Your car in on my top 5 SC's list. Masterfully done sir!

My wife and I took the car on another NYC to Va. run to visit my in laws for the holidays. It has been a mechanically eventful trip. Just as we got near our destination, the car sounded like it had an exhaust leak and ran really rough. We made it to the house, but I was seriously concerned. The sound sounded like it was coming from the intake side of the motor and I thought that was unusual so i called my builder. We traced it down to an EGR block off, pipe plug that had vibrated out. I heard it fall off on the highway. I thought I had run over a rock but I do remember that just a bit before. I found a 3/8ths pipe plug and some teflon tape and put it in. The car sounded like normal again.
I checked the oil and it was 2 quarts down or so..... oh no! I filled it back up and looked for a leak. I could not find a significant one so was stumped. I remembered that we removed the bracket that holds my dipstick in, and never made a new one so I checked the dipstick. It had pulled out of the hole and oil blew out while driving to Va.. When I checked the oil before leaving, it was dark and i must have missed the hole. As long as the stick lays in the hole, the oil stays in the car.
I took it to a shop to verify there were no other leaks. After probably over filling the oil myself, a miscommunication with the mechanic I took it to caused him to put more oil in. I drove away double overfilled and after a while, did a 1-2-3 pull. Right at the 3 i started smelling smoke and it quickly got heavy. It about 30 seconds, I was pulled over, i had my extinguisher out, gloves on and hood open ready for fire. It looked like it was coming from my O2 sensor in my downpipe. I drove it 2 blocks to the house to examine the mess. There was no fire. The oil shot out of the PVC valve onto the hot downpipe and smoked like hell. I cleaned it up and went back to the shop for a drain. Once it gets oil so far up the stick, getting a real reading is nearly impossible after. There is no line. We had to empty LOTS out to get a clear reading. Then we topped it off to the full line. It is good now.
I posted about a problem a while ago. My car would start and idle fine. Once driven and warm, if i shut it off and start it again. It ALWAYS would surge at idle with the AFR's pegged on lean. i'd drive it and it would correct itself. At a light later on, idle usually would be fine. The first cold start was always fine. The ECU was rebuilt proactively by Tanin before installation. I swapped it out with my Supra, 6 speed ECU today and that PITA problem disappeared. I know they replaced the caps but i guess something else is wrong with it. If your car is surging at idle and AFR's are off when warm, this may be your issue. It is running GREAT now and I learned 3 new things in a couple days. I also learned not to panic ;-)
Wow, it's so nice to have a garage to break and fix your car in. She even has lots of tools here!

I need some new Tripod R154 parts. I have a few broken parts that need replacing ASAP.
Is Driftmotion the best place to get this stuff?
Clutch fork
Transmission mount
Tripod bushings
All are DONE already after just a few months....
Is there anything else that I should replace while I'm in here?
I was running low towards the end of the build and used a few used parts from a guy moving to built auto. Note to self, never buy used drivetrain parts from a guy building high HP monsters DUHHHH!.
While the tranny is down, I want to tighten up everything I can and un-cut a few corners I cut with the used parts.
Even if you do your build 90% right, expect some of that 10% to come calling for you because it will. Sometimes the lesson is nearly immediate......
Take your time at the end of your builds guys. Haste can be a mother****er.....
What do I need to buy to do it right from here?
