Slowly but surely!

Torsen LSD is in.
TT brakes are on.
Radiator is in.

All thats left:

Find a better solution for gauges (pillar pods may not fit well)
Solder connections
Test drive and check for leaks etc.
Dyno

YESSSS!

Great news!

First test drive is tonight!

Working on gauges now.... I will be driving it as soon as he can deliver it or I can get up there. This week for sure.

This car will be dramatically different than it was when we started.

So here's the work list:

1.Remove and replace headgasket, headstuds

2. Replace worn Gaskets and seals

3.Install and convert car from non turbo to turbo

4.Wire and convert from distributor to IS300 coils

5. Wire and convert to TT ecu (wire map and iat)

6. Wire SAFC neo

7. Wire Gauges

8. Remove and replace w58 with R154 conversion

9. Remove and Replace factory diff with Torsen LSD

10. Install diff bushings

11. Install TT rotors and calipers

12. Install new Waterpump

13. Install new timing belt

14. Install Radiator
15. Install new Tstat and gasket

16 Refresh Head

17 Install aluminum driveshaft

looks fantastic. you are getting really really very close.. lol, sure it must be painful to wait.

you will be good for now but in the future you should think about getting a turbo blanket or keeping a spare throttle body silicone coupler around. the turbo has a way of cooking that coupler when it gets super hot but it usually takes some time on a good multi layer coupler. those reducer silicone couplers are not off the shelf items so thats why I would get a spare or if you get the blanket you wont ever have that problem. I know one more thing to buy right, it pretty much never ends.

Got that right my friend . Got to keep that heat away from the charged air !

But for me, there is a better solution on there for those who haven't done their NA-T yet. Just use a Threadstone (or any other) IS300 cast / log manifold . It will sit that turbo way down and gives you an ample space preventing that scenario Ali had just said about the coupler and at the same time prevents heating up the charged air going to the throttle body. It also frees up a lot of space for that freaking distributor .

After all, with the new turbo technologies now a days, you can have a medium / small frame +1000rwhp turbo on the cast / log manifolds if truly you are trying to aim for that range of power. Otherwise any smaller turbo would easily fit down there if power goals are between 500-700. You just have to get the smallest turbo that can support your power goals so you have a very responsive setup, turbowise.

Studio check out how I mounted my gauges in my car....I mounted them using an autometer universal pod and attached it to steering column

You really only need A/F and Boost Gauge

True, but something about having a top mount turbo staring at me on a 2jz makes me never want to install one of those. it is a good idea and design to work around the distributor (I think something like abs is there on the IS300) and intake piping if you don't care about aesthetics (cough bmw cough), but with the distributor delete and a turbo blanket that pretty much took care of the issues when I have the stock intake on. I think tread stone also needs a custom downpipe also the generic one might be too tall.

I'm going to get one. A DEI was suggested by Snowman and it looks great.

As you told me a while back. I really have no idea what my goals are until I know what 500 feels like. I'll report back after I feel the BOOST!

Catman,
I saved that pic a while back, LOL. If Snowman can get the pillar pods to work, thats my first choice. If it's a no-go, that is choice number two. As long as mine can look super clean. I guess it depends on the base.

Thanks guys!

She is DONE!

First test drive!

We need to tune out a bit more fuel today.

It's running well with no leaks!

Snowman will likely deliver it to NYC tomorrow.

But seriously though I would look at getting an intake pipe so you can place the filter behind the headlight....
