I'll go dual caliper someday just want to get it plumbed inline for the time being. Let us know when you get yours mounted and such, and also if your clutch master works, cause that would be sweet.
the abs deletion kit is actually fairly cheap, you'd be hard pressed to build your own for cheaper.

Thanks you guys! I really appreciate the love!

P.s. Nice catch on the SX Trail! That's my second addiction next to drifting!

Small update...

A couple of days ago I dropped off the car at a friend's house to get some minor fabrication done. He's a newbie to fabrication and just bought a bender, so I told him he can go at it with my car haha

Basically, the plan is to cut out the front wheel wells out and weld some tubing from the strut tower to the frame rail. I'll post pictures of the progress later!

UPDATE:

So my buddy Travis and I finally finished up the wheel well delete. This was his first time using the bender, and for experimenting on my car, I must say i'm very happy with the results.

Now I'll have more access to the brake and suspension area, we cut out the rust, and most importantly I know have more clearance for extra angle.

Next step is to paint the complete engine bay. I only grinded off the rust and painted that area in order to prevent any further rusting until I can get to the rest of the bay next week.

Here's a set of pictures...

Also, an update on the motor!

Everything is pretty much ready for reassembly. The block is spotless and freshly honed. It was supposed to be ready this weekend, but there were some set backs. I'll for sure be picking it up next weekend.

dude you put an LSx engine in everything, have you ever thought to work with the 1UZ and see what you can do with that?

Actually....No...Although, the 1UZ is a great engine, here's a couple of reasons why I believe the LS is an overall better platform...

Aftermarket support: Let's face it, LS engines have a far superior aftermarket support in comparison.
Part Availability:. If I need a water pump, intake gasket, head gasket, or whatever, chances are I can go down to the local parts store and buy it on the spot. Even if aftermarket, chances are some shop nearby has it and shipping is a very short wait.
Size: By no means is the 1UZ small. The LS fits better in the SC than the 1UZ does.
Simplicity: The LS has to be one of the simplest engines to work on...EVER...Removing the intake manifold, 5 minutes. Removing the heads, 30 minutes. Vacuum lines, 1 line. etc...
Power: Due to how many accessible parts there are, making power on these motors and where you want to make power is EASY.
Weight: Although I don't have the numbers on this, I can put money on the table that the LS is lighter than the 1UZ.
Reliability: Not saying that the 1UZ is less reliable, but just take the time and read this... http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/engin...mm_turbos.html

All very valid points... 1UZ would certainly be cool, but this makes more sense.

Wow very nice build man! Just went through the whole thread.

Would love to see you come out to Streets of Willow on April 12th!

We're having a large drifting event at The Balcony called Spec Drift.

At least for my purposes, it does. 1UZ is still a great platform though!

I **** you not, if my car is ready before then, I'll register and go out there. One of my biggest goals is to drive that track. My cousin lives 15 minutes away from the track and he's a fellow motorcycle rider on Willow Springs. If my car is done in time, I'll see you there! If not, then I'll be shooting for ASB later this year

Not as much of an update as i hoped for, but at least some progress nonetheless; really sucks waiting around for other people

Anyways....

Engine is getting assembled. When i went to the machine shop yesterday, the 7th, the cam bearings were being installed. Should be ready for pick up by Monday.

Crank has been micro-polished
Engine has been painted Ford blue Lol
Rods have been re-sized and shaved on the sides
All other miscellaneous parts have been cleaned and prepped for install
No picture available, but the heads have also finally been cleaned. I'll get a picture for that later

I also attempted at painting the engine bay yesterday and got really bad fish eye. Apparently whatever I used to prep the metal before spraying reacted with the paint. Kind of pissed about it and now I'm probably just going to pay someone to do it professionally.

Also, still waiting on the swap kit. Hopefully, I get that soon, because I would need at a minimum the oil pan in order to set the engine inside the car once and for all.

Any idea what the oil pan clearance is near the rack?
