I spotted the Supra and parked next to it.
Got to see this SR20DET-powered S14 earlier. As you can see, it snowed between yesterday and today. The owner/builder of this gem is a manager at the hardware store in front of which these photos were taken.
I never realized the size difference between the Silvia and Soarer. I knew the Soarer was a fair bit heavier, but the body styles were so similar I figured they were dimensionally similar.

Parts came in for my the differential rebuild. The LSD will be going into a spare OEM SC300 pumpkin whose supporting internals (bearings, seals, pins, etc) will be replaced. The sealed pumpkin will then be quickly swapped into the car.
I must give a shoutout to LexusAutoParts.com for a good experience. The order was less than half the price of my local dealership's parts department, and the parts were at my doorstep in 5 business days.

I am also doing the supra lsd into an sc300 pumpkin to keep the gearing ratio higher until I go turbo. Diff arrives on Monday and parts should be here by Tuesday.
To date, I have not found any video of someone rebuilding an SC/Supra diff. By any chance can you either shoot a video for us, or post up a good pic how-to?

There is nice DIY on supraforums on how to rebuild these diffs. Very detailed along with being step by step. Let me see if I can find it again.
Her it is... Its for a 6spd diff but the concept is the same. Just need to follow the specs for your diff.

So I hit a small patch of ice after a big snowstorm at the beginning of the month, and this happened.
Broke all the way through the fiberglass.
So, I went to work. Trimmed and re-fiberglassed (extra reinforced now), and then filled.
Filled and sanded and filled and sanded.
Filled, sanded, filled, sanded (320), primered, sanded (600).
Shot it with some ScratchWizard 1A0 basecoat, and several coats of pre-catalyzed clear lacquer. Wetsanded (1500), wetsanded (2000), wetsanded some more (3000), and polished (5000 + rubbing compound).
~15 hours of work later and it's back on. My fascia was mostly paintmatched to my hood (ended up being a lighter variant of 1A0). Unfortunately this means the paint line is visible. At least the license plate covers up most of the repaired area anyway.
Oh well. Daily driver problems. I think I've doubled the bumper's structural integrity after all those layers of fiberglass mat and filler.
