I have a question. For anyone in the know about audio and wiring... Every time I start the Lexus there is a loud "thump" from the subwoofer... I have the new amp wired up thru the stock amp and I'm not real savy with audio stuff... Do I need a cap? What is causig this and how do I make it stop... Other the the loud thump at start up there is no interference static buzzing or humming... Please lmk if u know why this is and how to fix it. Thanks
P.s. I got the gtr wing in today! Looks SICK! Gonna paint the sides white amd leave the center as clearcoated cf. Im gonna install it over the weekend. I Should also have the bov and intake in sometime this week... Can't wait to hear the ssq bov I also plan to install the 2 10" sub's and amp into the gtr this weekend... Got 2 10s I stead of the q 12 I have in the lex... Slowly but surly shes coming together...

Tip about the new wing and the non-painted clear coated CF portion. If you're gonna have a shop professionally paint-match the sides, go ahead and pay a little more to have additional UV-resistant clear added to the CF portion. Over time, you'll thank me. Just ask me what happened to my Evo VIII spoiler over the matter of just two years.

I'm guessing the cf part yellowed? Lmk asap bc its gonna go get painted on Monday... I still could use some help with my thump noise from the sub on start up... This has happened ever since original install for me as well so I've kinda learned to deal with it by now but every time I have someone in the car and start it they go wtf? So I'd like to fix it if possible... Is it a wiring issue? Would a cap fix it? Anyone who knows audio... Those of us with this issue need help! Lol I got my sub's and enclosure for the gtr in today! it'll look something like this...

If your system will look like that, it'll be really nice.
As far as the popping noise at start up, I forget what makes that happen but I do know that a cap is not designed to fix that. A cap stores power for your system when heavy bass is heard. Did a shop install your system? My system didn't do that.

I think you need to start a build thread just for the GTR here. LOL!
About the wing, yes...both yellowing initially and then cracking. Ask the painter what they'd recommend.
I agree, a cap would not fix that issue. I'd first check your grounds and ensure a proper cable gauge for those ground wires too. Also, when you start getting into factory additions to the electrical system, it is best to not share common grounds. So what I normal do is create a new grounding point; find a factory threaded hole, remove the painted surfaces, and attach. Just might help and be a "free-fix".

Yeah o had a shop do the install... I'll try running a new ground and see if that helps... And yes I had the painter use several layers of UV clear coat on the cf to insure it doesn't yellow or crack... I brought up my concerns and the painter guaranteed me that it won't happen and if it does hell reclear it for me for free

I did OK in the autocross but I've come to a major decision... I ran it by my pops and he actually agreed to let me do this... I plan on entering the gtr into the 2015 gumball 3000 rally... 3000 miles across the UK. $8700 entry fee... 600miles per day... I just registered on the site and hopefully they will let me run in the rally. That'll mean I need to export the car to the uk. I got the intake and bov kit being installed now... Next will be the exhaust. I wanna do this badly so gville lmk if u wanna be my codriver lol

^Oh man, if only I could. I'm in the middle of purchasing a new house and selling the other AND about to fly back home to OR to bury my father. Sounds like one hell of a journey though! Research the best and legal forms of radar detection or jammers available for the UK.
