Thanks for the compliments guys!
Thanks for the steering wheel info scENFORCER! I like the look of the three spoke RX 300 steering wheels, Added to the shopping list .

The Soarer- IJZ arrived from England yesterday!
The damp english weather has made it a bit rusty on the pulleys and block, but I love it anyway, cause it´s mine .
Came with the stock intercooler + ECU . I also got me an extra propshaft(rear part), which I need for the custom BMW-Lexus propshaft, to mate the BMW tranny with the supra diff.
Hope to get started with the maintenance this coming weekend.

Took a closer look at the 1jz last weekend.
Quite a lot of rust and oxidised aluminium. A disturbing oil leakage on the turbo side, down on the block, and even down in the front above the crank shaft pulley.

The oil leakage turned out to be from a leaking valve cover on the turbo side. The bolts holding the valve cover were completely loose in the friont.

Oil from the leaking valve cover drowning spark plug nr 1 and 6 +cracked plastic parts from brittle wire clamps, spider nets and a couple of dead English (or japanese) spiders . vacuumed it all.

The timing belt and compressor side of the turbos looked ok though

Lifting off the valve covers was not a pretty sight. A lot of debris has been building up around the cams, especially in the front, were the leakage has been. Valves looks ok . I´ve read somewhere that this is caused by oil and moisture. A lot of Cold starts etc. Do you concur?

Hi Guys

No big progress the last couple of weeks. I´ve been spending quite a lot of time on cleaning everytning up.
Have also been debating with myself on what I should do or not when it comes to maintenance. At first my plan was to do just the seals, thermostat, spark plugs, water pump and timing belt, but after Reading 1JZPWRD´s great build thread I Think I´ll have to do the oil pump as well if I want some Peace of mind. Welding the star plate to the timing belt gear was also a very good tip in his thread, which I´m considering to do.
Most parts has arrived from driftmotion (no such complete company here in Europe), but now Í´ll have to wait Another couple of weeks for a new oil pump to arrive, Before I can finish the maintenance.

I´ve been forced to change my prop shaft plans a bit. My original plan was to use the BMW propshaft that came with the tranny, and mate that to the rear part of a soarer shaft to make it fit to the supra tt diff. The BMW prop shaft has a flexible coupling/rubber plate in the front, and according to the guy at the machine shop, who is helping me with this, this would make it impossible to balance the new prop shaft in their machine. Last week I bought a complete supra tt -98 prop shaft, that i´m planning to use. They are going to construct an adapter from a volvo propshaft-coupling (SAE 1310) that they will mate to the supra prop shaft. I´ll take some Pictures when I get it all back home. One negative surprice was that the rear part of the sc300 prop shaft is longer than the supra one. This will ad some work to make it fit. I still have a spare soarer shaft that could be used if needed. I guess that the supra tt shaft is stronger though.

The SC prop shaft in the middle. BMW under. supra tt on top.
