You can go to eBay and look up RMR Ross Racing for the intake tube that you can have cut to any length for about 3.99 an inch. You then buy a Q45 flange from him, or you could get an intake from eBay and cut it like I did.
I may buy from Ross racing a tube and then do every thing as it is now. Ross racing intake tubes are 1/4" thick this was 3/16" thick. I will guide you on what you need then you just get it tig welded.
You would probably be better using a machine to cut it..... That's what I did to make sure that the cut is straight on all sides when you weld it.

Thanks for the info, I figured having the machine work would be better. I have actually had a few d plenum ffim's made locally before from the rmr stuff online but they were all the bolt on the lower runner kind. I am sure they could cut it how I wanted as well. I like how the over the top setup sits up straight more like a gte intake setup so in the sc I might even be able to reach the oil filter which was something I didn't like about the old intake.
in the mk3 you prob are gonna want the remote setup.

The upper runner gives more torque and allows for the IC pipe to run like the original 2JZGTE. I would just get a D plenum tube from RMR Ross Racing trace the upper runner after cutting it just above where the holes are on the back. You then cut the bottom plate off of the D plenum drill holes, and weld the bottom of the cut D plenum to the upper runner. You then would weld the upper part of the D plenum, and add the flange and back.

I got the 2zz, and 1zzfe coils mounted next to one another, and I can tell you that the 2zz coils will work but wont sit down into the head like the 1zz coils. There seems to be about a 1/2" difference in height.. I think an aluminum plate across the top with holes and the 2zz may just suit the bill yes!

2zz ge coils
I am leaning on getting the 2ZZ Ge coils and using them. I found a place that sells four new coil packs for 133.00 new that are Denso. They have a updated number which means the coils should be revised, non-the less they are OEM current Denso coils used in current late model units. If any one wants some I may try to get a group discount IF anyone is interested.

Today I finished the wires for the new possible COP set up and started her up. I think with a 4" aluminum plate across the top of the valve covers from the cams to the back of the head would look nice and function well.

The last couple of days I had a minor set back. I had to replace the Bearing hub in the clutch for the R154. Everything was new inside there but that hub and shim kit. Today I finally got the hub, and spring kit from Elmhurst Toyota.
If you do a clutch for the R154 I suggest spending the extra 75.00 for the hub and shim kit. You don't want to go in there to do what I did today after you have installed everything new!

bearing hub
This bearing hub for the pressure plate should be replaced if you don't know how long it has been in an R154 when you are doping a swap. You don't want to go back in to replace this as I did this week. If you were paying 75.00 extra can avoid paying the cost of paying to take the tranny down to install another part that could have been done while the transmission was out of the car.......food for thought.

Today I spent the day installing my new oil cooler....it was an all day affair since it is huge. I did not know that it was so big. It is 3" taller than the last cooler. Pictures to flow tomorrow.

oil cooler
This oil cooler is 8x11x2 while the last oil cooler was 11x5x2. I zip tied it in to test and made brackets for the final install.

oil filers
Today I tied everything together, and finished installing the dual oil cooler lines to the remote filters. You can see the size of the stock filter compared to one of the dual filters that I have installed.

Well I had the lines installed but since I had to relocate every thing since the 2JZGE oil filter is on the left side it seems that I reversed the thermostat and had it upside down.....soooooooooo....The in and out to the engine was reversed and the oil pressure gauge seems to be reading half the pressure. I reversed the lines and made sure every thing was correctly installed, but I still have a low pressure reading. I put the stock filter on and the reading is still low which means the gauge is going bad, or I may have pump issues.

After triple checking lines, and filters I changed the pressure gauge and now the pressure reads as it should. Now I have Mobile 1 15w50 and a dual remote filter system to keep things running cool for my turbo.

If any one ever thinks why should I use an after market oil cooler I will say that turbos heat the oil which in turn makes engine cooling more of a challenge for the coolant.
I notice right away that the fans come on and go off much "QWIKER". . OIL COOLERS also helps prolong engine life, and the integrity of the oil. This is a great mod that everyone should do. Oil pressure is a tad higher because the oil is much cooler.

I ordered CXRacing Inter-cooler pipes and was surprised about the quality. The kit was aluminum with 3 ply sleeves and Tbolt clamps...lots of sleeves and Tbolt clamps. All that is left to do is get a pipe between the space shown and weld everything together....?I will only need 2 tbolt clamps and two 3 ply silicone connectors.
