got the brakes on! found my squeaking problem!!!
when i changed the knuckle i must have dropped it and it was dented a little on the bottom, nothing a little angle grinder can't fix! so no more squeaks! however, my driver side handbrake, which wasn't functioning for some reason decided to fall apart, one of the retainer springs gave out, popped and was grinding on the knuckle, so i just took the entire handbrake out until i get some new ones, i think it's time to replace it entirely.
also started painting my interior with this awesome stuff!
did the steering wheel column cover
the little piece of leather to the left of the wheel
also did the glove box and gonna do the center console and center of the door trim
and here's how it looks so far
next up is gonna be AMPS! finally gonna get some sound going!
hoping to do timing belt in the next couple weeks as well before it gets really cold, it's nice and cool now

small update, did the shifter lights to match the rest of the interior, and painted the shift ****, gave it some life, we'll see how long the paint lasts. sorry for the messy interior, i'm putting off cleaning it until i do more interior stuff, including dyeing the carpet.
managed to stuff an LED strip inside this guy, it wasn't easy
hard to see during the day, but will look fantastic at night, will upload pics later tonight.

another update from this weekend!!!
changed the steering rack bushings, plain and simple job with awesome results! most surprising thing is my steering wheel straightened out lol, no idea how but it realigned itself straight, it was a little crooked left. no more bump steer over small bumps and the steering feels so freaking solid!!! i just gained so much confidence in driving the car, feels very tight and solid now and the wheels feel like they actually stick to the ground rather than washing about.
here's the old bushings, the big one wasn't that bad, it was mostly just scuffed up.
also did some more body work, removed the rear bumper and fixed all the rust in the back and fixed my license plates lights, the ground wire had come apart. i was surprised how little rust there was in the back of the car, mostly just the corner and that's it.
still gotta do underneath the car where the bumper meets the car, there's some surface rust there as well.
and here's the final result, some on the other side as well, still have some smoothing to do, but will do that before i paint it. ran out of daylight.
that sharp corner by the tail light was pretty annoying, it bends upwards so you can't get a sanding block in there so you gotta do it by hand which creates imperfections, so that area needs the most work. hopefully on october 3rd i'll do the timing belt with my friend.

finally the cluster is completely plug and play with my color changing lighting, soldered the control board power wires onto the pins inside the cluster. also made the clock and ODO white, seems pink in the picture but it's mostly white in real life. all you have to do is remove the orange filter and put a pink one on, depending on film thickness you might have to use more or less pieces of the filter.
also the ODO doesn't have that black line, that's just the camera.

decided to take some interior pics, enjoying this color past couple days. great thing about these RGB LEDs, you never get sick of the color of the interior lol
tried making the ODO and clock white with pink film, kinda worked, but the film is too thick or too saturated so it turned out... Pink, back on ebay i go cz my local craft stores don't have transparent films in anything other than clear.

had no idea you were the owner of this.
i had saved one of your pictures a little bit ago and just realized you're the owner, haha.
goodluck with the project, love the color.

had a decent amount of time this weekend so got a few things done. interior is almost done being painted. my switch board is coming along nicely, and timing belt is still on hold. would really love to do it before winter arrives, next scheduled date with my buddy is the second weekend of november.
restored my headlights again, they were looking really hazy, need some higher grit sandpaper still though, gonna grab some 2000 tonight maybe
painted the driver side door, it looks blue, but that's just the sky reflecting off the paint, it's actually black
painted the upper door trim light tan, cz i hate the poop tan that's everywhere in the car. i'll be doing the light tan to everything poop colored in the car
here's a comparison
fixed, some tabs with gorilla glue and metal pieces and washers. gonna get some liquid nails next weekend and do a better job
here's the finished product of the door
and here's the switchboard WIP
gonna do the next door this weekend, and hopefully the surrounding stuff, i'll be leaving the dash for last since i hate masking stuff.

got started on the other door, and also got started on the wood trims. maybe this weekend i'll paint the rest of the dash and start fixing the center console bezel. wood trims came out awesome!
it's a little cold so paint takes forever to dry, so i had to leave everything in my garage overnight, i'll see how it turned out when i get back from work.
