~ The VIP 161 Build ~
Im starting this thread so I dont have to create a bunch of threads every time I do something to my GS. This is the third GS Ive owned. My first one was a 2001 GS430. I swapped it out to a 2JZGTE with a W58. My second GS was stock. My third GS is the GS I will be keeping for a very long time
Its a 1998. The mileage on it is about 128k. Since Ive bought it Ive been focusing mainly on the basic maintenance and tune up.
I replaced the blower motor when the AC wasnt blowing any air. I bought an OEM battery from Lexus when I kept having weird electrical issues everytime the car starved for power. I changed the timining belt, spark plugs, wires, rebuilt the VVTI cam gear, replaced the valve cover gaskets and cam seals, and VVTi solenoid with screen filter. I run ENEOS synthetics.

Ive got a TTE replica fiberglass lip. There is no sense in buying authentic if Im riding low. The HIDs are 6000k low with 3000k yellow fogs. I have a spare pair of 4300k OEM style HIDs Ive been meaning to install for low beams. Im not too crazy about the blue tint of the 6000k.

New wheels are next. I have had a brand new set of Work VSXX sitting in my garage for almost a year. The fronts are 18x11 and the rear are 18X13. The his the next area Im going to focus on. I test fit the fronts with a pair of tires. Im running 245/40/18 in the last picture. Surprisingly I still have a credit card space between the tire and the fender. Im still playing around with a tire size for the rear pair. I cant wait to get these on.

I'm in Northern Cal. Thanks!
I just got a check engine light for the millionth time since I've owned the car. I'm considering investing in an OBD2 reader. I've got to be the only one with a cursed stock 2JZ. Does anyone know how to get the code without the reader?

Dude the bluetooth reader is like 8 bucks on eBay. Not that big of an investment.
Depending on your phone you just download an app to operate the reader.
Edit: ELM327 is the bluetooth reader.

Depending on the app you use you can get pretty much info from it.
