yeah so this happened:

it took me 3 hours to make the oval shaped pipe because i really NEEDED a 2.75" pipe to squish into an oval, if i had that it would've been a lot easier..
while i was at it i cut out this oddity:

no pics of the patch. i just used a 3" pipe cut and hammered into an oval that fit over the OEM thing.
its not pretty but it'll last long enough to get a proper header back exhaust made up (i found this out yesterday and had it fixed by midnight).

A little update. added some sound deadening to the back seat (the AEM 320LPH pump has a high pitched whine).

replaced a tranny mount. replaced the cracked intake pipe with a 3" metal tube and some couplers. the car rides so smooth and sounds SO good with just the xerd header and no cats. i don't have any desire to get exhaust, really.

2 weeks of driving and the mid pipe has no leaks, the car sounds amazing, and the paint is holding up well. don't hate on my boogar welds, i don't have a mig yet. i used a machine i bought 8 years ago for 150 bucks at northern tool. with the xerd header and no cats (stock catback) the car sounds very european. love that straight six sound.

Hand made exhaust, if they seal up and hold up to the stress then those welds are good. And yes strait through inline six engines sounds great with unimpeded exhaust

I wasn't happy with the vents so i put some more time into them and painted the dash trim pieces. i added a bolt to secure the center piece to the dash. I'm thinking of adding a couple more to the middle piece to continue that theme.

Very clean interior. What is that switch/button you mounted to the left of the center vent on the wood grain?

its stainless bolt that requires an allen wrench which fastens the trim piece securely to the dash. sort of a foreshadowing of things to come. its taking on kind of an airplane jet theme. i'll get some better pics of it today, i sanded it down and polished it up to be flush with the dash. might do a couple more on each end of the airbag piece.

Looking damn good! What color did you use for the wood trim (before this matte color you have now)? And what head unit is that?? It looks sick!

That's a sweet tie down, pretty simple too.
