Wow, I've been on here only a few months and haven't left any comments, just educating myself, and this car sounds beautiful! Good job. I have a 2007 460 SWB, and so far have only updated some LED lighting and K&N filters, but i'm looking to do a lot more soon.

QB330, nice! Grats on the LS460. I just picked up mine almost 3 months now. I've been loving it so far.

I recently picked up and installed my K2Motor full LED tail lights. Thanks go out to Nat, Elvin and Carlin @Impact Performance on getting these beautiful tail lights for me.

Overall the quality is good and a deal for the price in my opinion. The new tails really update the look for the LS and they look amazing at night.

Stock 07 non-LED tail lights:

New LED (top) vs Stock (bottom)

Included in the box are the 2 resistors and some sticker gaskets:

And install done, took maybe 30mins:

Thanks for the videos. They are a huge help in actually seeing a finished product. I'm liking those led tails. Look good.

I'm answering for Tony without his permission!

I have the same set of tails, and they are "stupid-bright"!

Besides that, it comes as an assembly, and the bulbs can't be changed.

I'd say they're pretty bright for having 8 reverse led's on each side. I wasn't expecting them to be brighter than the led bulb I put in the stock tails, since it had more leds and that focused lens thing.

Car sound great and the updated tails look really good! Makes the rear look like a 2014 car especially at night.

BTW the OEM tails are partial LED minus the reverse and blinkers.

Yeah, the LED bulbs for reverse is built into the tail lights. They are definitely brighter and whiter than stock reverse lights.

Yeah, I'd say its comparable to LED bulb swap on OEM tails.

Thanks Tee! Yeah, I think its a great way to update the look of the LS without spending an arm and leg.

Next up, my favorite part of building any ride... Wheels!

I must say, coming from the Nissan/Infiniti/JDM scene I was very spoiled when it comes to wheel choices. First, being that most Japanese cars come in either 4x114.3 or 5x114.3 lug pattern and the wheel options are practically endless. I already have a small collection of wheels but all of them were of the 114.3 variety. Which of course, does not fit our LS460's, with their 5x120 PCD.

So, I searched for my first set of "test" wheels to go on the LS. I immediately came up short. I couldn't find that many 5x120 wheels in my usual wheel searches, so I began searching else where and ended up mostly on BMW and Euro forums as they also run 5x120. Alas, I couldn't find much there either, since most BMW guys run performance setup wheel sizes which range from 18's to 20's. I was looking for either 21's or 22's which are hard to come by.

After a bit of searching, I finally found a used set of DPE wheels on one of the bimmer forums which originally came off of a 750Li and eventually ended up on an X5. I contacted the seller and we worked out an incredible deal that I couldn't pass up. Specs were just about perfect for a semi-aggressive look and fitment for the LS460.

After sending payment, the seller shipped the wheels practically overnight from NYC to CA. (he sent it on a friday, the wheels arrived the following monday) These are how they looked after I received them.

Specs:
22x8.5 +15
22x10 +25

Not ideal, but decent for the LS and stock body.

I gave them a good wash and this was what I was working with. Barely any knicks on the wheels. They definitely needed some re-polishing to look like new and for the price, it was a steal.

I broke out my DeWalt drill and foam cone buff attachment and began shining these babies up. I used Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. It's a great all around metal polisher and does the job. Here are the results.. left side is polished, right side is unpolished

Polished lips. Mmmm

One done.

Two done.

And.. All four polish and cleaned up. Not perfect, but it will do for now. I might do the inner barrels at a later time.. but this is good for now.

Next up, test fitting the wheels and getting tires mounted!

Tony
