Now with a single turbo.
Well the time to pull the twins off finally arrived. I can't thank my friend Clint (supra owner) enough for all his help with this. Due to a weight lifting injury, I was basically limited to using one hand lol. So without him, my parts would still be sitting in the corner of my garage collecting dust. Little info on the project. As some of you know, I have an original 5 speed SC300, on stock twins, ProEFI 128, exhaust, intake, front mount, clutch, brakes, suspension, supra seats, and 97 tails and front end. The car made 297whp and 278tq on stock ecu and 14psi when I originally got it (from this forum actually). After the ProEFI I made 352whp and 317tq on 12psi. I basically immediately began looking for a single turbo setup that would reach my goals of 600+ to the tires. I ended up in contact with Aaron from Driftmotion about using one of his manifolds for this kit. Well that ended up turning into using one of his whole kits. I explained to him what I wanted to accomplish and he put together a GTX6465 turbo, 11 blade billet wheel, anti-surge compressor housing, with a .84 backside, and VSR balanced. So far the kit has been mocked up, with only a very few small fitment issues involving two lower stud nuts on the manifold. I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about these kits, and I will be writing a full review once I have everything installed, tuned, and dyno numbers have been achieved. Dealing with Aaron/drift motion was great. He took the time to answer any questions I had (which was a lot) and communicated with me through the whole process. I will be tuning both on pump gas and e85. I will do a low power tune for now until I get a R154 in the car. I will be using two Bosch 044 pumps (need to decide if I'm going to fab an in-tank hanger or run 1 in-line and 1 in-tank), Full function engineering 1JZ billet rail, and ID1300's. Here's some pics to hold you over.

No clearance issues with the turbo. Only issue I have run into at all is simply the nuts on two of the lower manifold studs don't clear. This can possibly be solved by either using a different non castellated nut or possibly a shorter stud. I'll report back when I have it figured out. Other than that I am very satisfied with the kit.

Thank you for representing the 1JZ. I have also dealt with Aaron and he is a huge help. You will be happy with that turbo setup. What are you doing for fuel lines and injectors? I have the 800 cc with a single TT pump. I ran out of fuel not because of lines, which I have -6 and stock return, but the pump ran out, on pump gas. I will be checking this thread often. Take alot of pictures and keep us posted on the progression.

I will be doing twin bosch 044 pumps, custom lines, and ID1300 injectors, with a full function engineering billet rail. I'm in the process of deciding how I'm going to run the pumps. Either build a custom hanger and run two in tank, or one in-tank and one in-line. The car will be flex-fuel capable as well.
