Does replacing the ribbed tubing on the intake with that smooth piece make any difference?
I know the eBay BFI now comes with that piece included, whereas it didnt before. I think the seller wants like $25 for it, but I was just going to get one at Home Depot or something..

I doubt it. It was on it when I bought it. It will be getting K&N col air kit next for the GS400. It will fit without a problem.

^ just looked that up on the K&N website. Looks interesting. And a whole lot cheaper than the SRT Intake. Interested in hearing your review of it once installed.

Couple of new pics. Got the head lights and fog lights all buffed out. All scratches on drivers side along with dings are removed.

Started wiring on the son's car. Pulled seats out and found back area had been sound deadened. Not a very good job but we got it laid down a little better. Wasn't worth trying to pull it off. Got new speaker wire, RCA's, sub level control and power wire ran. Temperature here in Texas got cold Sunday so had to stop.

Tonight I took apart the factory volume control and modified it for the JL sub control. This is a really easy mod that allows the use of the factory volume control to control the subwoofer on the HD amp.

That's a nice mod. Very clean as always. Having two clean sc must be heavy on the pocketbook. Lol.

bigwes,

He loves it. He wanted mine but it was to much car for him. He would have probably been happy with anything. He's not really "into" cars like me but now that he has it he wouldn't take anything else for it.

At least he is grateful to own such a nice first car. Most kids get beaters as there first car. Did he have any other car in mind that he also wanted?

If your ever considering adopting, I would be glad to join the family!

I'm a student like your son, and onto my first car (92' SC400)

He has no idea how lucky he is. He has a perfect SC, and a father who is experienced in SCs

Can't beat that!

Radio installed with Metra kit and factory brackets. Getting good at that now.

Just FYI, I always put a layer of felt between the Metra bracket and air conditioner controller. It looks more factory and you don't have any gap.
