Default Modlife's Obsidian Black IS350 Build

Since buying my 2009 IS350 on December 27th, I've decided that each month I'll allow myself to spend on one modification. I figured this would be a good way to document the progress.

Here are the pictures from the dealer, before I bought the car...

2009 IS350
Premium Package
2-Tone Interior
F Sport Intake
F Sport Exhaust
F Sport Springs
Custom 19" Dub Style 10 3-Piece Carbon Fiber Barrel Wheels
40k miles
Clean Carfax and Title

Next Mod - New Rubber

The car came with some cheap 265/30/19 Tires on the back with approx 50% tread left (have no idea what brand)
I couldn't touch the gas without smoking the tires, so I challenged myself to drift around every corner on the way home (back roads, no traffic, no homes).

Here are the tires after that ride...

...and with new, wider Bridgestone Potenza RE760 275/30/19 Tires

Decided to Plastidip the badges to see if I liked the look. I intended to strip and paint if I liked the look (I do, and I'm actually leaving the plastidip).

And one shot of the "All Lexus" Garage

So, as you might know - The dealer curbed my car (very minor, but very visible scrape on the bottom of the bumper...

They agreed to paint a lip for me and order new headlights (condensation). Here is the lip after molding with a heat gun, but before trim/fit:

And Here is an example of how it is going - I had to use epoxy filler in a few spots (air bubbles), trim and sand some others. It will have no gaps when finished...

Yes - it was an interior option in 2009 I believe. Cashmere leather, but dark carpets and seat backs, which is a great look IMO.

Awesome start so far!! I love the color scheme although I am extremely biased ! The interior is called ECRU it was an option I believe from 08 and up as I have the same interior and have an 08 although my seat backs are still tan. It's absolutely the best looking interior in my opinion but man is it a pain to keep clean. Anyways, keep up the good work!!

I have no idea why cashmere was on my mind - I know it's Ecru... Long day working on a fashion spread, so I'll call that my excuse ;-)

The lip is gonna look great.

One thing pro I wanted a pre 2011 was the choices of front lips available

Thanks - I'm not big on body kits, but have been hooked on the wald style lip so it works out for me.

On the years, I thought the same thing but come to find out, the '09-'10 don't have many options for anything. The bumper is just different enough that nothing for the '06-'08 fits. I'm working with a plastics company to make my own f-sport style grilles in the hopes that I can sell a few dozen.

On a side note, if you get sick of your '11 bumper, I'm always up for a roadtrip/trade!

I love that lip a lot <3 I think either that or a diffuser would be next for me! Also I think you should tint or spray your taillights for the stealth look =D

Yeah, after the lip here is the order I'm looking at:

F-Sport Grille/Painted Surround
20% Tint
Used Trunk Lid (Planning on making a custom fab wald style lid from aluminum as my summer shop project)
2nd set of wheels/tires (Want to rebuild the 3-Piece Wheels and Possibly Refinish them)
Rear Lip/Diffuser

BTW - I think your name may have jinxed me. I haven't had a flat tire in nearly 10 years and had a blowout the other day
