Default Super Slow GM 4.8 swap build

So I suppose it's time to start posting this build. Its gonna take a while, I work 6 days a week and have three kids that keep me pretty busy, but this will be a weekend and long night kinda deal.
I picked up this Sc300 a few months back for next to nothing with a ton of spare parts, most of it junk. Interior is destroyed, it didn't run, and nothing really worked. I have thrown a few ideas around as to what I wanted this to become, but finally landed on an 4.8 GM swap. Interior will get cleaned up as the engine stuff comes along and nearly all of this build will be DIY.
Started with the bone stock Sc300 pulled the drivetrain and sold it all off as-is. Picked up a 4.8 from a Salvage with approx 165k (it will be rebuilt) got the engine cleaned up and temporarily painted. Began tearing down the 4.8 and it really doesn't look bad for the mileage that is supposed to be on it. Heads are coming off this weekend for a DIY port and polish. This leaves me to where I'm at currently, now for the pictures. Wish me luck!

Heads are off and the block is being torn into, bottom end is in fairly good shape, a little dirty but seems to have been pretty well maintained. Plans are to replace all bearings and re-ring as well as a general cleanup. The heads are in similar shape but they are being torn down to bare for a port and polish job, new valve train and lifters to support an upgraded cam.

Awesome project man.

The SC looks like an excellent platform. Engine bay looks brand new after you degreased it. That's the nice thing about southern parts that have no exposure to road salt.

Thank you
I really got pretty lucky with this shell, no signs of any rust or prior damage, I picked it up from a guy who really loved it, just didn't have the means to properly maintain it. I have swapped a good amount of cars just never a cross brand swap like this, but I think it will be great once its done and the sky is the limit with both the platform and power train. .

Thanks for the encouragement fellas, Im going to go the easy route and modify upper GTO mount brackets, for the mounts themselves I'm going to mod OEM BMW mounts to suit the need. I will make my own trans mount. (car is remaining auto) So it shouldn't be difficult. It will really be a guess and check to see what fits the best and give the most solid feel. I will certainly post my results with that when the time comes. And if anyone has any more questions along the way feel free to ask, Ill share the best I can

This project is not dead, just laying dormant for a little while. Having to unexpectantly move sucks. Should have some great updates soon, the engine is finally ready to be rebuilt.
