Nice work!
Is that a Celsior only mod or does it apply to usdm ls400s with nav?

Pretty sure it's only for Japan models since on my NAV unit has an extra button for "TV" function which becomes the source to hook up the AUX video/audio source...

I just googled/looked at USDM LS400 Nav unit and it doesn't have that "TV" button.

90-00 dash kit (flipped upside down for a Celsior): http://www.panavise.com/pdf_indash/75136-396.pdf
+ quick release base: http://www.panavise.com/index.html?p...qskudatarq=167
+ offset tipper: http://www.panavise.com/index.html?p...qskudatarq=169
+ phone holder: http://www.gpscity.ca/ram-mount-univ...-hol-un7u.html
+ ball mount (for above): http://www.gpscity.ca/ram-mount-plas...link-ball.html
Put my phone perfectly at my finder tips...

Please get rid of that lighter mount thing. Otherwise, awesome!

Ha ha ha I know...the holder sure ain't pretty!

I honestly don't really need a holder there period considering how little I drive the car. Plus I just installed the Kinivo Bluetooth Hand Free kit as well so I don't need to have my phone accessible to answer calls / control music once connected.

Howver I am curious to see what your set up looks like...do you have any pics?

Nice part is you can mount it anywhere up and down the centre console. I have the AUX mod to a headphone jack coming out of the ashtray and a retractable charger to keep things neat and tidy.

Finally got myself to work on the donor lights for my next project...

I need to first play around with the LS430 projectors by swapping the Fresnel lenses with tsx & E30 clear lenses to see which set performs better...

I picked up an used set of Celsior headlights so I can take my take time with the retro...I may also convert the high beams to these projectors as well depending on how much room I have to work with.

I personally would've liked to see this car kept in 100% bone stock form, but nice nonetheless.

After researching I found out that you can connect a harness to the stock Celsior navigation unit to create an AUX input for both video and audio.

Once you remove the armrest box, it reveals an unused plug just behind the rear seat vent....

The little white socket is where the AUX harness needs to go in....just like this!

and once you add the harness it creates a new option on the VTR screen "VIDEO" in green (thank god I can still read a bit of Japanese...enough to operate the nav).

It was starting to look promising...I needed to test it out but couldn't think of a video source that I can bring to the garage...then I remembered an ancient portable DVD player I used to use when my son was young. It even had a super old Rugrats DVD still in there.

now the moment of truth....and success!

I also have the navigation safety feature override harness so the passengers can watch video while the car is in motion but I need to wire that all the way from the trunk so it will have to be another day.

I am going to split the sound aux input and run one to a bluetooth adaptor to be able to play music off of my phone so this mod worked out really well. I am now able to retain the clean stock look while modernizing the features of my car. I just wish I had found the info before I invested in a beat-sonic kit / non-nav climate control to do the un-nav conversion.
Hello, firstly, the car looks brilliantl!

I have a UK LS400 (2000) and am wanting to fit a reverse camera/computer for display on the in built nav screen. I DO have the 2 connectors under the centre armrest. Can you please provide further technical info regarding the "aux harness" - do you have pin out configurations and such?

I've a spare nav unit which a friend has disassembled, we found the chip driving the LCD is an IR3P89, but there doesn't seem to be a readily available datasheet.

Since my nav unit doesn't have a TV button, I am aware I may have further hurdles to leap in future, does anybody have any pin out/tech info for the nav/screen related systems?

Thanks for your time

Fred

Hi Fred,

The harness was a simple plug & play so I have no idea how it works technically. Sorry!
