Default emoFTW's Build thread 1JZ/6766/272's/FIC 2150s/AEM/E85

This is my first ever build thread on any car I've ever owned. Its going to be a slow and boring build thread but I've always wanted to do one. I'm a little late on the build thread already.

I picked up my car in November 2012, this was the first Lexus I've ever owned, but I've been around JZ's my whole life.

I picked this car up from Mississippi, but I was told that the car had originally come from Houston, TX.

1995 sc300 with black interior!!
Was an auto car but one of the previous owners converted it.

At the time the car had:
1JZ
Soarer R154
CX Racing 61mm T3 turbo kit.
L-Tuned Salinas 18x9.5
LS400 BBK

Some pictures of the car when I first picked it up.

I was hasty and started buying parts right away.

Battle version bushings from Driftmotion. I took the transmission off of the car because the rear housing had a horrible leak from an unbalanced drive shaft. So while the trans was out getting welded, I decided to install my bushings. Definitely not very fun, everything was pretty much seized for me.

Here's the clutch that I went with. Southbend clutch which I highly recommend. It's rated at 550ft tq. This clutch has a very soft pedal feel, and the engagement does not feel like an off/on switch.

The car had a **** load of boost leaks when I first bought the car. After a week of chasing down all the boost leaks, I finally got them all figured out. Or at least I thought I had.

Here's a few more pictures of the goods that I bought during the spring time.

Tein Flex bought from my buddy! Low mileage, just a little dirty. I love the way they ride! It has a nice and comfy feel to it, but can also be stiffened for a nice and agressive ride to them.

Well after a month of messing with the transmission and getting all the bushings installed. I finally got the car back on the road!

Right before I lowered her down!

The pretty much ran all summer, I got a few good runs in with the CX kit. The car actually ran a lot better than I imagined it would have. Here's a few races, I have more floating around on that channel so be sure to check them out!

So I got married this June, so all the modding and car stuff came to a halt for the majority of the summer. We were busy planning out the wedding and getting everything situated.

For my bachelor's party, my brothers and friends all surprised me by taking me to the Hallet Circuit track here in Oklahoma! They rented out the track for us to rape all day! It was an amazing experience for us all!

I got to test out the suspension and how the new bushings felt, I'll be honest, without an LSD, stiff suspension and new bushings, it was a little hard for me to get the car sideways, which was the exact opposite of what I thought it would've done.

Onto the pictures! Just a few here and there.

All of our cars were making over 400+hp except for the IS300. All he had done was just suspension modifications, but he had LSD! Damn him!! His IS is 5spd btw.

The guys at the track were very impressed with out cars, especially the purple hatch, which is my brothers 680hp GSR Turbo hatch. he was on low boost that day which was about 400whp. Highway cars at a circuit track was not a good combination, we found out quickly that our cars could not hot lap, and that we were totally unprepared for track racing.

I have a ton of pictures floating all over Facebook, but I'm too damn lazy to find them right now.

Fast forward to about Late August. I had been chasing this weird sounding exhaust leak for quite sometime now, pretty much when I first got the car. I was changing the oil on my car and just happened to look up at my exhaust manifold to see that it had a good size crack going all across the manifold. I was pretty frustrated at this point, seemed like I've hard the car on jack stands for longer than I have had it on the road.

I decided to man up (pretty busy guy, my Dad and I own a business and I manage the workers) and install my new turbo. I quickly started taking things off and before I knew it the turbo and manifold were off the car already. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the removal.

ebay T4 manifold was braced and cleaned up by a member on supramania. He did an excellent job on it! I'll have to admit, I'll never buy another ebay manifold, it was horrific to install. I had to cut down all the bottom exhaust studs to get them to not touch the runners. On top of that, I had to thread in 3 nuts at the same time to get the manifold to fit properly. I also added a 1/2" t4 spacer so the turbo would better clear the manifold, and so it would be easier to run my oil drain line.

Mocking everything up!!

I bought the 4in dp/mp combo from ebay for my turbo set up. One reason is because my manifold now clocks the turbo, and the dp was designed for clocked manifolds. I had to modify the downpipe a little. Cut and extended it to keep it from touching the fire wall, and twisted the bottom vband to get better ground clearance.

Heat wrapped the dp to try and keep the engine bay temps down. Also to keep the cabin temperature down, my buddy had a 4in downpipe, his was not heat wrapped, every passenger that rode in the car complained about how it was a little warm.

I then proceeded on and built a full 4in single exit exhaust system. I was too damn picky so I thought I would build it myself, the ground clearance was wonderful, but it did take me a full day to get it where I wanted it to be.

So on 10/4/13 I finally got my car running with the new turbo and exhaust system. Fixed all the boost leaks and the car is now running top notch! Well runs top notch on 10psi. Any higher boost than that and air fuels get a little too lean for my liking. Just waiting patiently to install my FPR and I'll be ready to turn up the boost!!

Exhaust video!

Here's a little surprise I got this weekend. Also bought from a member on here LexusFTW. I bought his full fuel system from his 800hp v160 2jzgte sc400. Badass fuel system btw.

Magnafuel 4303 pump with -10 feed that splits into two -6 feeds, and a -6 return. I don't have the lines pictured. I also managed to scoop up a TT auto lsd pumpkin from my buddy as well. I'll be picking that up sometime this week hopefully!

That's all the updates I have for the time being. I'll be slow to update, so be patient with me! Thanks for reading guys!

Thank you, I'm hoping to be around 700hp! But anything between 650-700hp I'd be more than happy. I plan on finding a 2JZ bottom end in the mean time and build up a high compression 3.0

Well a little disappointing, got the car running great! (Bad tps) then I broke the tranny the following night. Will be pulling the tranny out hopefully this weekend to get it sent off to Driftmotion for a full rebuild with marlin crawler goodies! Probably will more than likely be installing my e85 fuel system as well! Sick of being slow!

Man that's sucks about the damage. But this built keeps getting better and better. Def keep us posted and let us know about the transmission build. I've thought about sending my tranny to them for the same build.
