Revive 2003 Sport Design Boring Build
#106
So first off, I just spent the better part of an hour reposting photos of my build due to all the dead links. I have no idea if anyone actually reads my posts but I'm sure it's more interesting with working pictures lol.
Updates??
A. Car is garaged for winter. Time to do some wrenching I guess.
B. Still waiting on my bodykit via Central Pine Japan. Fully expecting that to take as long as March to arrive. But I think it'll be worth it.
C. Hood still needs some fixing due to heat from turbo. More on that soon.
D. D is for Drive, which will soon be no more. Because I bought a R154 and I'm going manual trans... Trans should be shipped out in a few weeks after holiday craziness.
Already piecing some things together for the swap. JZ bellhousing, mount kit, and some random hardware needed to mock it up all on the way. Plan is to mock it up in the car to measure out shifter position. Since I bought the trans from Sleeper Designs in Vegas, he's also throwing in a pretty badass adjustable billet shifter housing they're about to release. Also going to extend the shifter and send it out after I get measurements. That should make things a little more convenient.
Here's a picture of what the billet housing looks like
I'm hoping to have everything finished and driveable by March or so.

Sorry I haven't been active here lately- Transmission finally arrived this past week. Holidays slowed everything down!
Hoping I can get to work on fitting this up for shifter measurements soon. Just moved to a new shop again (3rd time since last Aug). Finally in a better secured location for all my car junk haha.

I'm attempting to compile a "bolt in and drive" setup. That way someone randomly reading my posts (who does that? lol) can more or less duplicate it. Decided to go with XM pedal kit since a few members (Davis/xHaku, Whiteraven?) here have already worked with them on a decent fit. Price was fair imo, better than IS or SC parts and hacking it all together:
Next week should bring some pretty cool updates. May not all be related to manual conversion either! Fairly excited about it

So this arrived today:
My GE is still running great and hadn't planned on a swap at all. Prices dropped lately and impulse gets you lol. Also my body kit made it on Central Pine's container; I believe it's already in Cali. So stay tuned for that update as well.

Couple small things occured today. Excuse the hazy iphone pics
Removed the auto trans and let the atf drain. Didn't get to the TC and flex plate, will wait til tomorrow probably.
Fitted the JZ bell housing to the r154 with some new hardware also.
Did a little bit of checking through the wiring as well. Overall the engine is really clean, timing belt service was done at some point, hard to tell what the mileage was on the decal though. Did find a few connectors with the locking tabs broken. Also seems to have broken the plastic vacuum nipple for the PS system. Not going to jump too far into all of that yet though. Head injury from getting blown up repeatedly doesn't help the short term memory- if I take everything apart at once I'll definitely forget a lot of stuff lol.

Due to the first heavy snowfall in Lansing the freight company pushed delivery to the right. So hopefully tomorrow the wait will be over. Contacted Rich at Xcessive due to a missing pedal bracket for the kit I ordered. He promptly sent out one which came this morning.
This bolt welded onto it tests my ocd though. If your welding a bolt onto something like this, the proper method is to alternate sides as if your "torquing" it down. Otherwise you get too much heat, bolt head tips towards the welds, and your threads won't be square.
No big deal though. If it doesn't fit I can fix it lol
