Hey everyone, my name is Gerard and I'm from Vancouver BC.

I'm new to club Lexus but no stranger to sedans. I've been building cars forever and chances are if you've ever searched "cressida" you'll see my last car. It looks like this.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-2851171185.jpg

Usually doing this.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-1872948805.jpg

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-3800559484.jpg

It's powered by this.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-3917792354.jpg

A 1.5JZ at the time making around 403/450.

Anyways. I stopped driving it in 2011 and was revamping it with a bunch of new parts and more power etc. Was going to re-release my car with diff paint, new wheels, new aero etc.

Over the last year or so I got really busy building this thing.

And my car took a back seat.

During the build of Alex lees FD car I got to know the 161 chassis quite intimately and was quite impressed with many aspects. I've never been a fan of the body style as much as the 147, (which I've also had as well) but they are WAY more popular and we had already developed the 50mm wide body for them allowing me to showcase our parts in an extreme way.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-3633972494.jpg

My mint 1995 Aristo 3.0V. Stock Automatic 2JZ-GTE with a few mods. FMIC/3"EX/Holset HX35@12lbs (7blade 12cm2 divided t3)/eBay mani w/T4-T3 adaptor)/SERIALNINE delrin diff bushings and sitting on STANCE Super Sport coilovers. Making about 350ish there )
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=543333412359304

Long story short I decided to make the jump to the 16 chassis. I put the word out on FB "looking for a 98-05 GS for under $2k" I was semi skeptical but since we had picked up Alex's car for $1100 (complete car!!) I knew something could be out there. Low and behold I got a phone call from a buddy with a buddy looking to get rid of some baggage. A project car which I was familiar with for the past 7 years had been abandoned and was now sitting on an unhappy landlord's property ready to be towed any second. The previous shop had moved and they left the car for dead. PERFECT I thought. Words were exchanged. "It has a full cage, brand new TRD 1.5way and its MT swapped, all for $2k". SWEET!! I was so excited I instantly drove 45 min to check out the car.

Uuuuhhhhgggg I was met with this.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-1894467111.jpg

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-43989716.jpg

So I called up buddy and was like "ummmm, sorry man. There is NO diff and this thing is FUKCED!! " "welllllll **** what do you want to pay?" He asks. I reply $500 (being optimistic) I wait, wait, silence on the other end. "Okay" he says. YESS!!! So I acquired this 1998 GS400 for a mere $500. A rolling shell for sure, but most of the life will be provided by my yellow car's drivetrain and a few other key parts.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-4100050141.jpg

Brought it back to the shop. Gave it some much needed TLC to get it to here.

Looks pretty good of you ask me!! Only a few dents and dings. Still gotta tackle the brake fluid drip damaged roof. And what looks like a bunch of rusty fasteners. But so far so good.

We compared the weights of S9 BREED CSL style trunk to the stock with and without the wing.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-945931529.jpg

After that we swapped all of the parts off the stock trunk onto the SERIALNINE trunk.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-699853920.jpg

Everything fit like stock with threaded inserts provided where needed. All holes lined up quite well and overall fit and finish was very close to OEM.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-1061119569.jpg

So far so good!!

Today I'm going to tackle removal of the ****ty cage.

Ill keep u guys updated!!

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Is that rear fender flare with door portion custom and if not who makes it?

I didn't actually polish it at all. Just washed it with a good car wash. The paint isn't staying so I just wanted to see the actual condition under all of the moss and dirt.

So I cut the majority of the cage out today.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-65942353.jpg

As well as this

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-3013827310.jpg

Disgusting!!!

Still gotta cut out the horrendous "baseplates" WOW whoever made this cage was truly an ameteur. Gonna give the interior sheet metal a good scrub down and get rid of all surface rust and get some protective paint down on it aight well.

Started parting out the yellow car. Hopefully selling the (brand new) wheels next week. They were Work Gnosis GS2 18x10+4 225/35-18 and 19x11+9 266/30-19. Black lip with brushed face.

SERIALNINE Streetstyle JZS161-image-4172347419.jpg

Although i love these rims, they're just not aggressive enough for the new car. With our BREED 50mm fenders And the amount of camber I'm planning to run, I can run an EXTREMELY aggressive wheel. New sizes will be 19x11.5-34 (177 mm lip) and 19x10.5-20(120mm) lip. 265/30 and 235/35 tires. Although these may sound pretty aggressive but they are actually a little conservative. My FLCAs are 1.5" longer than stock so I'm limited to the -20 on the front. In the rear I plan to actually drift the car so I need a size that can allow for minimal camber (within reason ) so I stuck with a more conservative -34. Ill let u guys know the particular wheel once I've decided and ordered them. I don't like false promises haha.

Anyways. Till the next update!!

Welcome Serialnine! I've know your products first hand! My neighbor purchased your solid sub frame bushings from you. Great quality too! That's a nice wide body kit.
