Starting swapping out some parts...

Here are the 2 front shafts side by side...They are very close to the same....biggest different is the input shaft....the soarer r154 is much bigger and has a different spline than the w58

Soarer front shaft has the writing on it (bottom)....You need to swap over carrier bearing from w58 front shaft

You can visually see how much bigger the r154 (left) front shaft is compared to w58 (right)

Interior stripped out and started to drill out spot welds on OEM 5spd tunnel......Since I went with a newer tripod r154 it is necessary to install Supra 6 speed tunnel to have a clean factory like install

You can see the little divets in the tunnel these are the spot welds that you need to drill out...

Underneath....My tunnel does have the provision for the ebrake on either side of tunnel..

Closeup from underneath of the 2 spot welds that I drilled out.....There is roughly about 30 or so that need to be drilled out and then can pound the tunnel out from above..

The tunnel swap was relatively easy considering you are cutting open your car. Just take your time and it fits in perfectly. Mine lined up perfect with the airbag module.

Does it come out pretty easily once spots welds are drilled out...I understand it is going to take a lot of beating and hammering to get out...

Do you have any tips or tricks to share when you did it....

I didn't drill out all the spot welds. I removed the main flanges on the back end and cut out for the new tunnel.

Show you guys what was needed to use factory W58 trans mount...

Has multiple holes for mounting

I needed to grind that little tab out of the middle of w58 transmission mount...it was not allowing mount to line up properly with holes...

All mounted up perfect like factory...you can also see that it uses same speed sensor as w58

Transferred over w58 reverse sensor to r154 so it will be plug and play

Car is all back together....Just finished putting the seats back in today and got the SC outta the garage under its own power.....!!!!

Roughly took about 3 weeks to get it back to this point....

Didnt get a chance to take it for a spin yet....the clutch pedal still is pretty soft and it needs to be bleed again....Hopefully get a chance to take it out late tonight or tomorrow....I cant wait to see how much different the car will be now with the Soarer r154

Shifter is a little bit off center but it doesnt make contact with the bezel in any of the gears...

Thanks man....I shouldn't have to worry about breaking anything now....I could see maybe the rear end possibly...but that is my next item to tackle....either auto TT lsd w/ 3.76 or JDM 6spd w/ 3.26

I'll probably upgrade the injectors to SARD 650CC which are drop in for Aristo rail and are high impedance

Those probably wont happen to early next year....

I've been following this thread for quite a bit. I'll be doing the swap to the Soarer tripod as well, so this will be a point of reference for me. Glad to see you got her up and going. Post on the FB page! Shifter position looks dead on to me.

I have a hard time believing you'll break the rear end. The IS300 guys are pushing ours well beyond the 6xx and 7xx whp/wtq range with no issues. Maybe I'm wrong about the SC rear though.
