CatManD3W SC300 Ongoing Build...

Started to tackle the coilover install.....I wasnt able to get the old strut out without removing the upper control arm.....which isnt to difficult.....but on another note......those damn sway bar end links were toast....I had to cut them off with a grinder and cut-off wheel...they were just spinning and that little allen key to keep it from spinning was useless....its stripped out instantly...Looks like I am going to need some spacers to get the wheels pushed out a little bit more maybe a 10mm front and 15mm rear
Here's some pics....Gonna do the rears after work today...

For the harness relocation, people do way too much. All i did was disconnect the plugs on the fuse box to give the harness some slack, then just stick it above and into the fender, there's a great spot for it up there and it doesn't budge. I've seen people cutting it, completely removing it and relocating inside the engine bay and it's all waaaayyyyyy too much work for something so simple. Just saying.

I raised the car up today....and was able to get out of my driveway with minimal scraping...
Before: (Measurements taken from ground to top of wheel arch)
Front: 28"
Rear:27"
After: (Measurements taken from ground to top of wheel arch)
Front: 26.5"
Rear 25.75"
Ended up giving me a 2 finger gap all around from tire to fender
I wanted the coilovers for the performance handling gains, rather than being super low.....it is a night and day difference from stock suspension..

haha ok....
here you go...
SEM (Landau Black) parts....it is pretty expensive for paint....it runs about $15 a can.....I strongly recommend getting the SEM cleaner to put on before the paint for both vinyl and plastic
I had to dye the speaker grills with RIT....they didnt come out as black as I wanted with just SEM
Here is half the carpet done...RIT fabric dye....
And here is the door panels...which were wrapped in new vinyl...
Section behind lower speaker trim piece....SEM and RIT on small piece of carpet
I bought 3 yards of the vinyl for $35 from JO-ANN fabric
Wrapped armrest with new vinyl....
Finished Panel installed...
