You shouldnt have to "massage" the tunnel too much. With the DGR mounts on my car, the t56 fit without issues and has just enough clearance. Only place I had a fitment issue was about an 1/8'' on the passenger side at the top of the head against the firewall.
I have toyed with the idea of shifting the engine forward, so if you come up with any tips that still use the DGR mounts, let me know.

Hey. Great build so far. Have a 5.3 looking for a home right now. My question to you is do you feel that the heavy modification of the truck oil pan, and that remote adaptor, and having to use thread sealer on every oil change, was worth the time, work, and money over what you would have had to do and spend with an F-body pan? Thanks

Well since the truck pan came with the engine, I only paid $15 for the aluminum piece, and I did the welding myself, it came out making sense, but it isn't ideal for everyone. BTW found some gasket type washers to use instead of pipe thread and sealant.
We will only know if all this was a good idea if I can get this engine running in a vehicle and put slme miles on it.
BTW I had to scrap the SC400, because I live in one "those" kinds of neighborhoods, but the engine is still sitting in my garage waiting to make it's home somewhere. I want to put it into my 1985 Toyota pickup.
Oh well, I'm glad the internet is a pace where one can start a build thread and not finish it.
