Default New project - Supercharged SC400 part 2

So as some of you may know, I have / had a 95 SC400 that I, among other things, supercharged using a Vortech supercharger. Well last week Monday I wrecked the car. You can read the story and see some pics here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...7-wrecked.html

Well I love the SC so much that it didn't take me long to buy a new one, a new project I guess you could say. It is a red 96, a few pictures attached.

I bought my wrecked car back from the insurance company and I am in process of salvaging as much as I can. Swapping any part that is in better shape and / or that I have upgraded or modified.

So far I have:

Swapped both upper and lower door panels.
Replaced the drivers door window regulator
Replaced the blower motor resistor
Swapped the drivers side lower dash panel
Swapped out the rear seat cushion
Replaced the glove box latch
Replaced the shifter button
Put in my Kenwood head unit
Installed 2 amps
Put in my Polk audio speakers
Installed 2 12's
Cleaned the carpet and the rest of the interior
Washed and waxed
Relocated the battery (first step in supercharging)
Probably a few things I'm not remembering now...............

Currently I am removing and salvaging as much of the suspension as possible as I have Tockico adjustable shocks on the old car along with swift lowering springs. I had also replaced all the control arm bushings, rack bushings, sway bar bushings, Megan traction rods, ect. So far I have not found anything that looks damaged.

Other things to do:

Replace the center AC vents
Swap out all suspension parts
Swap out the diff (Supra LSD installed in stock rear)
Swap out the motor / trans, both of which have been built / modified
Need to get the gas out of the old car

The list goes on and is actually a bit overwhelming. LOL

Will try and snap some pics along the way.

I am by no means happy that this happened, wrecking the green car, but I do think once I'm done with the red car I will like it better.

I read and commenting on your previous thread. I am so happy you decided to buy another and keep modding the SC. Are there going to be any major changes under the hood with the new supercharger?

I love the SC, not sure how else to put it. Not much else I'd rather drive, for the money anyway....

Major changes, not sure yet. I think for now I'm going to keep it simple. Put my built motor / trans in with the 440cc injectors and see what the stock ECU does with it. I know I didn't have any trouble with my first motor until I went standalone ECU. I think the stock ECU is underrated in what it can do.

For now I'm still trying to get the car right otherwise. I'm transferring all the suspension components that weren't damaged as I had done poly bushings in everything. Also working on putting in my struts / lowering springs. As I was doing the passenger front suspension I discovered that the inner tie rod was worn out, swapped that over. About ready to put in my poly rack and sway bar bushings. Has a few leaks, one of which I'm pretty sure is the high pressure power steering line. Will probably swap that over when the engine comes out.

The to do list is long and other things keep popping up. It is nice to have a parts car in the driveway though....

I have taken a few pictures that I will upload in a bit.

Just ordered 2 Honda injector resistor boxes FYI as the 440's are low impedance and likely to fry the ECU without resistors.

Some pictures taken while swapping around the suspension.

Plan to put the stuff from the red car onto the green car so it can be towed. If anyone has a spare drivers rear upper control arm, LMK.

Also, the Supra wheels appear not to be damaged.

Nice progress I see. I wish I could stumble across some good TT chrome wheels.

Well I will probably have mine in the classifieds eventually, although you would need to have them polished.

I too am not happy about the green SC, but I'm very relieved that you're getting back into another SC400. Good move!

Nice to see you stay in the SC family On a side note though the fitment of that front bumper looks really off under the headlights. Other than that I'm digging your new ride

How so? In the pics it almost looks like a gap under the lights but there is black rubber there. I guess the figment was off so they put the rubber? Looks pretty clean in person.

LOL, you know I like to get things done!

Working on the right front suspension now, the inner tie rod on this side is bad too, WTF!

Ok, yeah I thought it was kind of odd to have all that bodywork done but still have that gap between the headlights. I didn't notice the rubber piece. Super clean car though man.

I kind of wonder if they did that on purpose to make it possible to remove the headlights....... Not sure normally the headlights can be removed w/o removing the bumper.
