92 SC400 Back to stock build
TL;DR
crappy spray painted interior and wanting to get back to tan
Short story long version;
Hi all. Just bought an SC400 with 120k. All stock, except for what the previous owner did, which was to try to make the tan interior black.....using spray paint. :/
So now I have to fun task of trying to get the interior back to stock condition.
There was also something up with the front seats, so instead of replacing them with stock seats he got some ghetto ebay racing seats that look like garbage and feel even worse to sit in. A little bit of body damage, but I'm not looking for it to be a show car just yet.
The PO knew that he pretty much ruined the car though, so I got a great deal on it. And as far as the rest of it goes, body is about 8/10 with a few minor exceptions, and it runs great. Little clunky on the tranny when it comes to a stop, but everything else is nice and smooth.

wow someone did not prep that right... good luck with that, idk how you'll restore the original pieces lol. but should be fun. some of the pieces i say are good enough and might only need a touch up. 2 tone interiors are pretty cool.

Yeah,I'm pretty sure it wasn't prepped at all.
There's over spray everywhere and a lot of it was just done haphazardly.
I'll take some more pictures as I go through the progress of cleaning everything up, but as of right now I have some feelers out there to see if I can just buy most of the parts instead of trying to take hours and hours carefully cleaning paint off of leather. .
Part of it is plasti-dip which is nice as I can just rub it off, but unfortunately he didn't use that for all of his "work"

Pole Position
good-luck with your project
that interior is pretty ghetto indeed and a waste that some people can ruin a car like that
i guess the best option is to get some used tan interior pieces

Haven't gotten much work done on the SC lately. Waiting on figuring out where I'm getting parts from and busy with a bunch of other "life" things.
With winter setting in soon its getting down to a time crunch between all my projects.
Hopefully I'll have better updates and pictures coming soon

Whelp, I think I finally found a donor car to get my interior from. It is a couple hours away and our schedules are pretty different, but I hopefully I can get it before the snow starts to fly
