I realize that these goals are extreme. But for now this is just some dream i have. Im not arguing with anyone on anything. I have some pretty expensive ideas and its likely that it'll be more like 3 years before they actually get done, if ever. Thanks to anyone supporting this thread and to the people who don't, i understand why. Id like to say one thing while on this subject though. My car will never come first in regards to where i spend my money. Part of every paycheck goes to my savings for college and to even be allowed to drive i need to keep my over 3.5 average in school. modding my car inst on top of my priority list even though id like it to be. As someone already said, money is tight for everyone, adult or child, and seeing as the only thing my parents are doing for this car is paying the insurance, putting 80$ of gas into my car every two weeks, plus food money and paying for my own repairs this will be a loooooooooooooooooooooooong build and something that ill have to be saving up for for a while.
Now on a separate not, im getting a valve adjustment in the next two weeks before any modding begins and then the next step will be fixing my gas gauge issue and dash needle lights.
after that will be the headlight moisture.

BC over tien all day.
Also, you said blah blah blah vip over the jdm cars I was inspired to build...
cannibeat, stancewhatever, that's not usually true jdm. It's mostly hipster/loser/scenester. Your car is related to a soarer, jdm tyte YO!
In all seriousness, pay attention in school and stay away from the forums you mentioned that condone hellagay activities and you'll turn out alright

Cdinicola, you sound like you've got your priorities straight about the car. Hope my own post didn't give you the impression that there isn't support for your project. You'll do well with this car!
Now, as to the issues you mentioned:
Headlight moisture is going to require some DIY resealing of the housings. There is a writeup or two on how to do that. Additionally, you can restore the lenses with a 3M kit available in most auto parts stores (avoid the Meguiars headlight restorer kit like the plague). Getting a body shop to re-coat the lenses in a new protective layer that seals from outside oxidation is also a good measure to take.
Dash needle lights are best repaired by sending your cluster out to have the miniature neon bulbs restored.
The gas gauge is sometimes tricky. It could be one of two things: your fuel tank sending unit or the gauge in the dash itself. The gauge can be restored by sending it out or you can buy a new one from one of the discount Lexus/Toyota dealers.
I made a thread on my experience with having to replace both. It's hard to tell which has gone bad or if both have after enough years:

It's really cool that you got this SC. Me, just turned 17 yo, have a "part time paycheck", have experienced the $$ these cost...which has, total, cost me around $3600. Now you want expense...I got this 1996 Explorer...Ford...-_-.
Post some interior pictures up when you get the chance-with such low miles, your car should be pretty good...

Your car looks great man! Wish I had an SC in highschool haha.
And let me tell you this: I've made plenty of mistakes in my life, some of them quite serious with some pretty hefty consequences, but modding a car has never fallen on my list of "mistakes." I love modding cars, and I've been doing it for almost 10 years, but it has never hindered my ability to provide for myself or my family, and it has never gotten in the way of my career. It's this simple: if you have some extra money, go for it. If you don't, then mods wait.
Good look with your project man, can't wait to see it come along!

car's just begging for suspension! looking good! my goal for now was to pick up some pbm's for my car, and getting my pay cut from 800 a month to $200 bucks ever two weeks killed me, especially switching from a 4 cylinder scion xb to a V8 LS400 to a v8 SC400. Almost had enough until vegas heat hit and i needed to get my AC recharged. Working on getting my interior sorted out as well, my car was a rebuilt title from theft so it was beat and stripped on the inside. looking forward to your updates
