Thumbs up My 2jzgte swap

Hello all, im kind of new to the forums, have been lurking for a while now. For the past two months I have been reading about the swap, and how easy it was. I decided to tackle it. for the most part, it was easy, aside from lining everything up. There were some great threads on here that I used for reference, as well as shooting several swap guys pms.

before the gs, i had a bmw 323 manual with basic upgrades

The day i bought the GS

Before that, I had a bagged caddy

You're going to love it man! Mine luckily comes with that from the factory (got to love Japan) What else do you plan on doing engine wise?

Did you retain the OEM ecu for comfort features and are you ODB2 compliant?

Maybe just some basic bpu upgrades, nothing crazy.

No. I am using the jdm trac ecu and jdm ecu to run the engine. I have the basic gs300, so no heated seats etc, but I have all the features I had before. The only thing I noticed is that the heater is a bit cooler because of the bent heater core line. My state does not require odb2 emissions checks. just through the tailpipe depending on what county you live in.

Thanks for the info. I guess I have to move to your neck of the wood BTW what year is the chassis that you swapped into?

Ordered it from a Canadian company through the interwebs.

I have a question. After getting the car back from the exhaust shop, It wouldn't start. After 3 days of troubleshooting and no codes, it started. I changed the plugs, wires, fuel pump, filter, and motor. looked at all of the vacuum lines, grounds and hot wires. Symptoms of the car: it would turn over and die. I know I got the non immobilizer ecu with the car, and the termination plugs.

After it started, I took it to get gas at the gas station. On the way back, 1 1/2 mile away , and at about 65mph, it started blowing white smoke everywhere. I popped the hood, and there was oil everywhere by the bov, and the bov was also dripping with oil. There was also oil pooled in the intercooler piping. I haven't installed a catch can yet, but any input? This is the first time the car was driven on the road. It was towed to and from the shop.

Blown turbo seals? Bad pcv? Ive been searching and searching, here and on supraforums. no luck on my specific problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like blown turbo seals to me. You should of swapped out the turbos before you installed to be on the safe side since most of the jdm motors you really dont know the history of them. either way should be an easy fix.

Sounds like a blown turbo seal. Oil in the IC pipes is an indication of that, The BOV is spitting out the oil when once the boost pressure is released. The car turning over and stalling could be that the ECU is not sensing a MAF signal or a indication that the is a signification vacuum leak somewhere.

probably the same outfit i got mine from, i also bought a 1jz swap from them for my brothers SC. good guys to deal with.

first thing you need to do is take the pcv valve out and plug the hose off with a bolt and try driving the car into boost. my pcv was stuck and it made a mess everywhere and barely made any boost. when i got my swap i pulled the turbos off and there was a ton of oil in them and in the inlet pipes, i think the dismantlers in JP put oil in everything to prevent corrosion. i cleaned all the oil out and its been fine ever since i replaced my pcv valve. the pcv will stick open and boost will blow oil thru the valve covers and into the inlet pipe for the turbos via the vent on the other side of the motor.. try plugging the pcv hose up at the intake manifold and give it a shot.
