Smile My Aristo JZS161 Build thread.

Imma post a few here for anyone that cares yo!

Had 200SX, built it up, drifted it, crashed it, broke it.

Its wise if you see this car at a track-day, stay away.

So now. I bought an Aristo. I want to keep it awesome to drive and comfy, but also drift it on the casual at tracks.

There isnt a lot of info at all with getting an Aristo drift ready with stock electronics and auto box, so its all new to me and possible, most others.

So 9 weeks ago I picked it up. Not a bad price, but quite frankly owned by all I can assume as idiots. Its either been sent to garages for work done, or the DIY work is done by a complete ****ing spastic.

So current Spec since owning it,
Braided Goodridge hoses,
HKS Panel Filter,
Double Decat Downpipe,
3" --> 2 x 2.5" exhaust system, stock style tails,
BC BR Coilovers,
TTE Front Grille, TTE Front lip kit,
GS300 rear subframe to remove ARS,
Carbonetics 2-Way LSD
MC_Bob awesome VSC removal switch.

Future plans,

HKS SLD Type 2,
Drift.

Since owning its had a front wheel bearing which was a PITA without a press. A large engineering vice, industrial pipefreezer and an oven got it in though.. lol..
Then the other bearing went, got annoyed and bought a 20 ton shop press. Took ****ing minutes to change!

So here are a few pictures, the last couple are lower, the back will be raised a few mill though as got a bit overexcited!

Ill be dissapointed in myself if the next real update isnt with sideways evidence.

Yup,
Its a kit Ive started making+selling for Aristo Mk2s to fully disable the VSC, TRC and ARS.

New 19s. Drift day in 2.5 weeks..

BC Coilovers are very good so far.

Done more skidssssss. So much better since sorting front tracking, now I just suck.

Done more ****.
Fitting SuperPro Front lower arm bushes. IS200 ones fit, thanks for letting me know Dale.
Fitted new Castor bushes also as old ones were ****ed.
Added Camber up front ready for Pod. Done at 4am ready to leave at 7am FTW.

More bits to go on this week. Front LCA spacers and steering rack spacers. Gotta roll the arches again too.

Anyway, coupla pics.

Front end traction is ****ing sick since doing those bits and pieces. Gotta setup tracking right too. Only just started to try hitting top corner. Auto with no Handbrake/clutch still scares me.. If your not fast enough second will kick down into first.

Since last post I think I done another two drift days. So sweet..

Fitted Super Pro steering rack bushes. Altered two vacuum hoses to lock the turbos in parrallel mode, liturally takes 5 minutes to go back to sequential mode... At 1.2 bar its sweeeeeeet.

Made a small appearance in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZZBjAPCWHQ I didnt think it was possible but started being able to skid the top corner and kill **** loads of speed off with lock into the smaller corners. SO MUCH FUN doing it without a handbrake.

Gotta love aristos! Greetings to the UK
I wonder why you need a HKS diff, if you already have a Carbonetics LSD?

Nice drifting btw

Hey guys. Whacha mean HKS diff? Dont think I made a typo anywhere.

Engine bay Ive purposely made look stock, all aftermarket gear is underneath the engine. Its just super clean, will get a pic, but its always dark here when I work on it tbh!

Thanks

Started with the Hydro.
Want it stealth.

Will be keeping the use of the top half of the arm rest for storage. And one cup holder. I NEED ****ING CUP HOLDERS TO DRIFT. Will also keep the vents for the back seats.

Yeah you break into the lines running front to back. Ive used it without disabling anything and so far ABS doesnt give a **** lol..
Track time will have a different story.
Ive bent 2 frames now, Ive made a new one from box section and so far its going strong!

That is a slick hydro setup. Is the handle on a quick release so that you can run stock-looking with the cupholder lid shut during non-track days?
